There's a very thin line of difference in between confidence and overconfidence. Well, I can explain to you the whole fact with a simple example.
Right before coming to this interview, I was thinking that hopefully, I'll be impressive enough to the HR, through my answers while the Q&A session and I'll surely be capable enough to fulfil the criteria of this job role. So this is called confidence, which is quite good but you know what over-confidence is, if I think that all the other candidates, sitting outside the room will not be able to fulfil the criteria of this job role and will none of em' be selected for the next round. Whereas confidence rejuvenates your soul, recharge your mind and body, over-confidence is a very toxic material by itself. So, we should through overconfidence out of the window but must keep confidence within our heart. Thanks.

A confident person is knowledgeable, has a deep understanding, has sharpened his/her skill sets by repeated practice, and is constantly willing to learn. A confident person is also humble, can acknowledge his/her mistakes, and makes it a point to rectify their mistakes and faults. These qualities build trust and make him/her success in life.
Whereas, An overconfident person, on the other hand, is blind to his/her mistakes and faults. He/she cannot accept their shortcomings and assume that they know the best. Hence they stop learning and slowly but surely stop being successful in their chosen path.
