I read all of your's comment but don't ya'all think that ya'all are speaking the same thing that the population due to illiteracy and villagers ideology and bla bla. But for a second thing about the ranking off most populated countries. I mean India is second most populous country and if all the people think that is the main obstacle for development of India than what about china.
If we had to judge a countries development scale on the basis of the population than china should have been the least developed country in Asia but on contrary it is the most developed country in Asia instead of its high population. It is only because of efficiency of the government, its ruling ability and plan execution that develops a country.
The population may have effected the development scale but the main reason is corruption not population. In-fact population can also be treated as an asset for it makes the competition tougher and brings out the best. So, population is definitely a bane but not to the development, it has only been degraded due to inefficacy of the government in India.

Population increases just like petrol prices and gold prices. But it all lies in how we view the scenario. Rather than cribbing or brooding over the ever increasing population, you may use it as a support to climb greater heights. Population quotient-the strength of 1.52 billion dexterous population is something we all need to take into account and use as an opportunity. Indians, together can create wonders. The skill, attitude and knowledge is not match able by any other country. The call for the hour is to deploy the unemployed. The talent, ability, resources is all here, it is just that we are restraining ourselves from looking at the brighter side of it. It's still never to late. Yesterday also, in an article in Hindu I read that the fraction of Indian citizens having mental disorder is very high. The demand for psychiatrists amounts to 3500, but the supply is just 350. Where is the hidden potential? Is it being untapped, or unrecognized or both? Making the worst out of the less, tagged are looser. Making the most out of ten available, tagged as winners.

Hello friends,
Main reason of increasing population in our country is illiteracy. There is no awareness among the people of our country. They don't know the side effect of raising of population. We are second place country after china and till 2050 we will held 1st place which is harmful for our economy.
What we can do to stop increase population.
1. Government must start a awareness programme in villages to reduce population.
2. Provide facilities like food, medical, education at low cost to only those families in which there are 1-2 children. Those who has more than 2 children are dismissed from the scheme.
3. Provide a education specially to girl children.
4. Government should take a help of teachers & other government employees to spread a awareness.
5. Road shows. Banners, skits, advertisement on radio, on television with the help of popular person (like icon for plus polio is mr. Amitabh bacchan) that advertisement create history we are now polio free country, may same we can experience in the case of population.

Hi friends, I would like to add some more points to our discussion. Some of our friends have suggested for one child policy to be implemented in India. But don't you think the mental health of that child will be effected a lot? He/she might be feeling alone and might not be able to share emotions or feelings with anyone. So I think that two children in a family is a better idea than having a single child. Secondly when we talk about food crisis, can't we use latest technologies or invent some new techniques to increase our production of crops? Earlier farmers used to grow one crop in a field now they are able to grow two or more crops in a single field which signifies the efficient use of the land and also increase in food. Thirdly I would like to add a point regarding creating awareness among the people especially the illiterate people. The awareness should be in such a way that people are made narrow minded so that the gender bias is eliminated and even the policies of government could be implemented effectively.

Population explosion is the severe problem of our nation which is leading us towards inflation, poverty, low per capita income, decreasing gdp etc.
In order to overcome ever increasing population following measures should be undertaken:
1). Firstly the policy of two kids must be taken seriously one who abides that rule should be charged 40% income tax.
2). People instead of having their own kid, should adopt orphans this would help decrease their ratio.
And so we can faint poverty upto a certain extent.
3). Government should give permit to abortion cause neither the man nor the women wants the kid at that time.
Forcefully giving birth to the child spoils the child's life as he was not wanted and spoils the women's and men's life as he is held responsible for destroying three lives at a time.
If following things are adopted then sure we. Can decrease our population resources will be enough and demand will be rational.

Literate states are more likely to have a efficient tab on population with also states with households owning a TV as per studies conducted. By TV its not a house having a TV will have lesser children but can be aware of various initiatives by the government for population control. Actually, the truth is that the south Indian states have already reached the replacement rate. The two major states of UP and bihar contribute largely to population rise.
I don't quite understand what's taking the Indian government to educate and implement a more comprehensive birth control programme in these states? I believe that corrupt governments want these states to remain in poverty primarily fueled by population so that more money can be effectively looted. With absolutely no educated population the problem of accountability also does not arise since the population of these states are not aware of what's actually been done to them.

I believe that increasing population of India is surely a grave problem and it needs attention but not by implementing laws that force people to go for one child, after all its a free democratic country and people should have the freedom of deciding their way of life. If a wealthy person can afford to educate and provide for 3 kids whats wrong with him having 3 ? the fundamental solution is to educate people about birth control methods and provide special govt privileges to people with one child. Not by punishing people who have more than 1. Also government should take care to avoid child marriages and educate people about art of life. Abortion should not be encouraged as each and every human life is a gift of god and deserves to live. So prevention is better than cure. And it should be by free will just like Australia and Canada and not by imposing it upon the citizens harshly like China.

I think to control populations govt should adopt a policy of one child only it doesn't matter its a boy or a girl. By 2021 India will be very near to china in comparison of population. Friends we say why India is still the developing country. The main reason is populations. If we control our populations then.
By 2050 India populations can be declined and it will reach below African countries. If this happen then by any mean India will sure become developed country by 2050 whereas in case of china they will remain the most populated country in the world till 2040 and will also be declined below African countries.
In India up, Maharashtra, Bihar and many other states where populations is increasing tremendously, over there govt should take serious action regarding this issue and should adopt one child policy. Not more than one. If twins then it can be ignored. But more than one.

These are a few hard suggestions for population control.
1. Make it illegal to marry without a Licence, only people who are more than say 24-26 years of age and earning enough to support a family should be allowed to marry.
2. Make it illegal to have children without getting a Licence first. The people on welfare ie. Public distribution system and needing assistance from the government should not be allowed to have children.
3. No one should be allowed to have more than one child. There should be a mandatory vasectomy after one child.
4. All people who are not even able to earn enough to feed themselves should be forcibly vasectomized to prevent them from having children and contributing to population growth. That would be all the beggars, inhabitants of slum clusters and like.
The population control can only be achieved through strict measures and not through mere slogans.

India is among the most populous nations of the world and according to the recent research India will become the most populated country leaving behind China by 2030. Dealing with the rising population of the country has become a major issue to deal with. According to me, the population of the country can be controlled by creating awareness among the people of the country especially those living in the backward areas. The benefits of having small families, sex education among the people, camps and meetings concerning the rising population issue, and many more.
Also, according to me, the government should provide a kind of compensation for those couples who plan for a single child or who adopt orphan children. In Fact looking at the current growing population, government should make strict laws so that population can be controlled to an extent.
