For me Hindi is our mother tongue language because I belong to north India but still I cannot impose the same for all my brother from another part of the country where they belong to south India. It is not that easy for a person to be linguistic based on common assumptions. It is good for them to respect Hindi but learn based on their interest staying in their comfort zone but not necessarily to impose Hindi on them. For an example is it necessary for a Brahman to learn all vedic puran? just because he belong to the same community. The answer is NO. He should respect but learn according to his suitability. So to mug up with the very same problem English became a common ground for all of the Indians to communicate not only nationwide but internationally which is the extra plus point because all I can say this is a language which is being taught since childhood to all of us past of decades.

Hi friends,
According to me, Hindi should be an official language of India. Because in every country they have their own language as their official language like in France people speak in french, in Germany, german language is used, in Afghanistan afghani language is used to speak. So, in our country also everyone should speak Hindi and every Indian should feel proud while speaking Hindi. But somewhere I also say that everyone should know English also for communicating with ppl of other countries. But in our country, every Indian citizen should know and should speak Hindi.
And another thing most of us really like to learn a foreign language, but we don't generally prefer Hindi for speak. We should speak our Hindi language with proud and we should also try to make our language more popular in all over the world so that every people of the country should take interest to learn Hindi.

Hi everyone, myself Sania Khokhar.
According to me, Hindi is the official language of India because it is our mother tongue. And we are lived in India. As we all know that, the other name of India is Hindstan and this name came from Hindi. Those persons who say, that the Hindi is not the official language of India because many of the higher jobs, interviews, and all high classes study, English is compulsory to know very well. I appreciate from this statement, but to know the english we firstly know the hindi after we explain any word. I know very well that English is our global language, but doesn't mean that we are adopting this in our official language. In India, around 75 percent of peoples are lived in the village so they don't know how to speak English. So, according to me, Hindi is our mother tongue and official language of India. And we feel proud of hindi language.
Thanks.

Hello, everyone!
In India most commonly understandable language is Hindi. It should be the official language. To address the whole nation, to make our nation unite, our great freedom fighters used the language Hindi, not their respective local languages. Why does our president, PM address the nation in Hindi or in English, (though they do not belong to Hindi speaking states) not in any other languages? English is a foreign language, to connect to the rest part of the world it should be used. I understand in a southern part of India most don't understand Hindi. But I am surprised why they are so hesitant to learn the language. To talk, to communicate with a common man of India who belongs to any part the country, India should have a commonly accepted language. Hindi is perfect for that. Let's make our nation unite, not divide by language, cast, religion etc.

Hello All,
I think Hindi should be made as the official language of India as this is a language which most people speak. It will definitely help people;
1) who goes to different cities to study or live in.
2) it will definitely remove fear or settling in a different city.
3) will help people to unite more as people talk in that language and communicate more in the language they are comfortable in. If everyone is on the same page - people can communicate better.
4) In India itself, people are fighting for their languages and its but obvious - how can they think of peace with other countries?
5) I feel more comfortable getting settled in foreign countries as they have 1 common language "English" (Not talking about all countries but at least - Australia or Canada) - with keeping Hindi as National Language - will give the same feeling to sustain.

Hi everyone,
According to me, Hindi should be the official language of India to promote our country. Every country has its own official language like German, English, Japanese, Chinese etc. But some Indians feel shy to speak Hindi and feel proud to speak English. Every language can be learnt by interest but our Hindi language should be spoken in our country. We should support and feel proud on Hindi. As a point of education and conversation in other countries, English should be known but it is not mean that we forget our language. However, there is many regional languages in India and they don't know how to speak and read so there is a solution for it by starting the Hindi language as a mandatory subject in schools of those states.
In my opinion, Hindi should be official in India as other countries and we should feel proud on Hindi.
Thank you.

Good morning gentlemen.
I study the views of many of you and on that basis and my own views I concluded that Hindi should not be the official language of India because making Hindi as an official language would suppress many other cultural languages such as marathi, tamil, telegu etc. People should learn many languages just to make their stand in the world. As the one from you said that English is a common language in the world and we have to learn and study it. As one guy can speak Hindi, can also speak some other languages, but the fact is we never try to learn it, we and our government have to make such a environment that is suitable for every language.
The second point comes that many of us are not able to understand any other language, this is not a big problem, the technology has made it so simpler, just use it for the sake of someone.

Hi, I am Dhiosmati Devi from guwahati (Assam).
My opinion is totally against it. Hindi should be used as a regional language not as an official. It may create some problems in the field of foreign relation, a diplomatic relationship which is most important part for our country to growth development. If it does not happen then our country will go back to the 14th century in the field of economic, political and social growth. For example,
India has a good relationship with America. But if Hindi registered as an official language, how can the Americans delivered their thoughts. Indirectly, Indians must be dependent on the English language. It will arise other many difficulties. Although India already has to face many problems. So it nice makes it clear that English should be an official language instead of Hindi without any hide and seek.

English is a Universal Language. So if we had to go to foreign countries to study or get a job, how are we going to communicate with the people there. Also, India is the second-largest English - speaking country in the world. Hence if we disregard English, many people belonging to India will be affected. Making Hindi as an official language would suppress many other cultural languages and regional dialects such as Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam etc. You can't make a language official only because it has originated from our country. The Old was History. Now is the future. Making majoritarian language the national language is unconstitutional. In the long run, it will be harmful to our country. The minority who don't speak Hindi would protest and a Civil-War could take place affecting many lives and degrading our Peace.
