According to me "Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do". It is true that morals and values differs for an individual, concerns come in our professional lives. When people at work pressurize you to things, often we ignore our ethics.
For:
- In today's situation with immense pressure and competition, business and ethics can't go together.
- A couple of times because we follow ethics, it hinders us from succeeding because it squanders time.
- Ethics are usually bound and nurtured by religion, family values etc. Such forms cannot work well in business where you are expected to be professional and practical.
- A businessman should know how to handle pressure, stress and competition and not how to be ethical.
- We all want to make quick money. In today's market, being ethical takes a toll on you.
- Ethics unlike a balance sheet don't have visibility. People today judge you based on money and not ethics.
Against:
- Ethics makes you stronger and independent. People can't deceive you easily.
- Not following ethics makes you a selfish person.
- There is nothing wrong in making profit. But, making profit by unethical means could cost a lot of people harm, mentally.
- Customer's perspective is to link with a company with ethics and values. They know that will never be forged.
- Being ethical in business creates a sense of responsibility towards society.
Morals and values are extremely individualistic. It's incorrect to say that you can't succeed if you are ethical in business. You will probably take some more time to succeed. You can't force someone to follow ethics.

Ethics = Succesful Business.
I think for an organisation to be successful it is important to ensure people working in a particular organisation is abiding by the ethics as stated by the company
People working in the company is under a lot of pressure of work that they may lose their controls leading to complicated situations so through business ethics people will try to be patient as their point of view will be respected.
If the worker's issues and satisfaction is taken into consideration it makes them to do their work with more dedication.
Ethics gifts an organisations with a goodwill and credibility.
From the point of view of public, their concern is about how the company fulfil their interests, satisfaction and requirements.
But the most important thing they see is whether the company is concerned about social responsibility, safety and emotions among their workers or in society.

In my opinion, ethics are the moral values, culture and belief which should be followed by the organisation to be successful. If a company wants to attain more profit in short duration they will go for unethical practices because through ethical means company gets a profit but it takes a long time.
The top management of the company makes sure that the ethical practices should be followed by each individual within the organisation then only company will attain the trust of the customers. Ethics not only gains trust of customers, but also of stakeholders, shareholders, owners, investors and employees of the organisation.
Lastly the business which follows ethical practices will do the development of country as well as the society and the industry in which they operates in.

Hello Everyone.
I'm Arpita and from my point of view, Ethics is very important in all companies and in life also. Ethics is helpful for the company to run in the long term and for stability in profit and growth. But without ethics company run but stability and security is not there. Many people say the company can only be profitable if it is unethical and ethical companies are not much profit earning.
But in my opinion, that's wrong because ethics are the moral values, principles, culture, and beliefs that everyone be followed in their own life. And if the company is run in ethical values, and culture then it makes people trust this company which ultimately leads to the growth and profit of the company.
So, Ethics is more important than only focusing on profit.

Definitely there are some obligations which one should abide by and follow while doing ones business, rather we have very drastic example of bhopal gas tragedy which cost life of thousands due to absence of ethics and responsibility. In a business welfare of society is as important as profit, hence a business without ethics would only aim at filling one's own deep pocket instead of serving country and such a kind of business would only be a liability for society.
While a business having ethics would be aimed at over all development of country, society, employees and that industry, in this way business will also blossom at a greater pace. Hence, role of ethics in business plays a quintessence part and should not be avoided at any cost.

Business ethics is just as important as acquiring the moral autonomy principal where your character or moral values determine what type of person you are or in this case the type of business you're running.
So if you dare to do unethical acts in the business industry to satisfy the companies obligations or yours, then you and the company shall suffer in the long run, because according to the golden mean "Do unto other's what you want to be done unto you" will always come around one way or another and another main factor in the business world for unethical behaviors, if one is not faithful in little things then he or she can't not be faithful in bigger things, so the person or business will never progress as planned.

Business ethics (also corporate ethics) is a form of applied ethics or professional ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business environment. It applies to all aspects of business conduct and is relevant to the conduct of individuals and entire organizations.
Business ethics has both normative and descriptive dimensions. As a corporate practice and a career specialization, the field is primarily normative. Academics attempting to understand business behavior employ descriptive methods. The range and quantity of business ethical issues reflects the interaction of profit-maximizing behavior with non-economic concerns.

Ethics are the values and moral which are individualistic in nature. On one hand, if a person holds onto the ethic until the very end he is likely to get success slowly but for a longer period of time. It is not good to earn the profit at the cost of other people as there are more chances to loose respect in the society. On the other hand in today's wold's people are recognized through their money and power and not whether or not they follow ethics. But not following the ethics might not assure the success of the person for a longer time. This I m in support of the statement that ethics play an important role in the business.

Ethics means the ability of a person to follow the right conscience during difficult times whatever the situation may demand, he should give in to the unethical practices to gain short term goals and profits. Apart from achieving corporate goals, a business has certain responsibilities towards the society, stakeholders, employees, etc. By running the business in an ethical manner, we not only earn the good reputation in the global corporate arena but also create a positive vibe ans amiable working environment among its investors and employees. So to maintain a long term relationship, we should take unethical practices.
