Polythene bags must be banned!

Indeed! We all support afforestation without any hesitation, even though we haven't planted a sapling. However, we at least by now have come to the consciousness of planting and growing trees. Simultaneously, we should also remember to protect them too.

Plastics can be highly beneficial and seem user-friendly! Sadly, they are actually not!

The toxic substance they emit when they come in contact with heat can cause unimaginable spoils to the soil where the trees are. The simple logic of plastic, that it doesn't allow the leakage to happen can be the regretted fact when it is under the soil. It doesn't allow any leakage to happen be it the raindrops or any such.

OK! Even if we all get into the track and STRICTLY OBEY TO THROW THE GARBAGE ONLY IN DUSTBINS, and plastics are separated from the degradable wastes and sent for recycling.

Once again, the whole lot process will happen to make that piece of evil work for us again in the nothing but same way.

For that to be recycled again a lot of resources would be employed, the waste liquid from the process causes water pollution, the smoke/gas from the process causes air pollution and keeps us drenched in the poisonous atmosphere forever.

This, it's better to give up plastics rather to give up ourselves! Think for yourself.

You have all mentioned below the disadvantages and the adverse effects that plastic bags cause to nature. Also, you've told how during recycling of plastics get stuck in the machine, how aquatic animals are getting endangered and so on. But you know I think banning plastic bags will negligibly prove to be effective since plastic is not only used to make just bags out of it, but almost every little thing which is the part and partial of our lives is made of plastic. Now you would say that banning would reduce its no. And the level of danger it causes to nature, but the production of plastic rather polythene never stops. Even if the polythene bags are banned, the plastic's production keeps on multiplying. Besides polythene bags, as you said to have are not porous so the liquids or food you carry does not leak, whereas paper bags would make these substances leakages and wastage. I wouldn't say paper bags shouldn't be introduced but polythene bags are helpful for it prevents leakages, provides strength to carry aqueous substances and solid items too. It only depends on how much we make use of it. If its use is restricted for some substances then it can help us a lot to carry liquids and help to save nature at the time.

Polythene bags are nonbiodegradable. They Must be banned. As they take several years to degrade completely, they are poisonous for our surrounding. On burning they release several pollutants which is also one of major factor for global warming.

The good thing is now people have understood about the ill effect of using polythene bags thus they have stopped using it. Instead of polyethene bags, use of jute bags is being encouraged. But there is still few grocery shop which is still doing their business with polythene bags. Government needs to take strict steps against these people. General awareness programme should be taken in cities and towns especially those where percentage of illiterate persons are more to let them know several disadvantages caused by polythene bags.

Grocery shops are not the only user of polyethene bags, there are several retail stores, canteens, vegetable vendor, etc which use these bags. Government should operate a search hunt in order to find polybag users and if caught they should be penalised. We must realise that we have not inherited our resources from our forefathers but we have borrowed it from our children. Sooner, the better.

Well, a plastic bag is made up of polyethylene which is a non-renewable source. As it takes more than 100 years to degrade a normal polythene bag which is made up of 40microns our government has made a rule that all plastic bags should be made below 30microns but due its thickness as a major problem which not suitable to carry more than 5kg our govt had again changed the limit of microns from 30 to 40. When we talk about his advantages it was mainly used to carry something and to keep dry & fresh on the other side of the coin it has a large number of disadvantages like.

1. It becomes as a hanging rope to animals those who swallow it along with grass.

2. A variety of marine life has vanished due to the dumping of plastic bags in oceans which do not allow to mix oxygen with water.

3. The percentage of greenhouse gas has been increasing from our day to day life.

If we continue the way we using plastic there will deficiency of oxygen levels for our future generations.

So by comparing all aspects, it is better to ban the usage of plastic instead we have to increase the usage of paper bags in the place of plastic bags.

Hello everybody, first of all, a very warm welcome to one and all reading my views, today we are discussing a very Serious topic that polythene bags should be banned.

In my opinion, polythene bags should be banned, because it is very harmful to us, not only for human beings but also for animals and nature. Because they are not decomposed easily in nature. Sometimes many animals eat these polythene bags, due to which they die. If we burnt it to decompose it, them it releases very harmful gases like SO2, CO2 and many more, which is extremely harmful to our environment.

Nowadays we are using lots of polythene bags daily, and throw the polythene anywhere, due to which our water drainage system gets chocked, that enhance the dirtiness in our surroundings and due to our this habit, our underground water is also get polluted.

We should think in this regards and try to use more and more carry bags, which is made of cloth or paper so that we reduce the use of polythene bags. We try also to follow the policy of RRR means - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. So should also try to spread awareness among the people so that we save the future of the new generation.

A single plastic bag takes 1000 of years to decompose and analysing by the amount of plastic bags being used in the markets today we can imagine heaps of plastic bags getting deposited in the landfills on the outskirts of the city and thereby contributing more and more to land pollution. Plastic bags which escape garbage collection process end up in streams which even can lead them to see where they pose a greater risk to the life of marine animals. Leatherback sea turtles mistake these polythene bags for jellyfish and consume them which leads to their death by suffocation. Plastic bags are not even easy to be recycled into some new material because of the nature of the plastic used in its manufacture. Also, it gets stuck in the machinery of the recycling plants thereby causing the whole recycling plant to be stopped. Polythene bags' durability and non-porous nature make it the most convenient carry bag in the markets today, but the disadvantages are more as compared to this single advantage. So plastic bags should be replaced with bags made up of environment-friendly material, for ex-paper bags.

We know that polythene is not good for environments as well any living things on the planet. The only way to stop the polythene bags usage that is to stop the whole manufacturing factoring and else working place where polythene makes. Along with help those peoples who want to stop the usage of polythene bags.

All Government patty said to not using the polythene bags why they never stop the factoring making those polythene bags. If that not possible then give the free papers bags to the whole shops to use it instead of polythene bags providing by government If they want people to stop the polythene bags usage or else low taxes sale on the papers bags that might be people's will start to using these types of bags.

Too much harmful the facking polythene bags. I think if government Focus on that things instead of election the might be peoples shop the usages of these type of bags.

Note: That's time will come soon, when we need skin coverage as will mask need to help survive on the planet. If Government Will not resolve the issue of this problem.

Since the dawn of our civilisation, man has a developed a number of tools and implements to make his life easy on planet earth. One such useful invention is that of plastic and to be more specific that of polythene bags. The invention of plastic has evolved the whole outlook of industrial output.

We are discussing the topic "polythene bags must be banned" which becomes a major problem for human being and animals as well.

In my opinion, this should be banned but the alternative of this should be encouraged.

There are so many reasons for the ban of polythene like most of the polythene waste are mixing in oceans and create problems for marine life. A lot of animals are eating polystyrene. When we eat these ocean fishes we are indirectly eating polythene.

These days everything including foods is wrapped in polythene and when these products are exposed to heat then dangerous chemical such as BPA released in food.

Like this, so many problems are generated by polythene.

There is a need for awareness to people and everyone should think about it.

It is a responsibility to every human being to clean our planet.

We can use biodegradable plastic, paper bags, cotton bags etc instead of polythene.

So my conclusions are polythene should be banned and replacement should be provided.

Sir, I agreed with the others point but I wanted to add some of my thoughts in this topic, a/c to me plastic bag should not be banned, if need to banned then it should be our usage style, in daily life people after using of polythene bags they just throw up anywhere as a result 100% polythenes not reached their recycling process, many of friends are talking about the use of paper bag instead of polythene bag but everyone should have to know paper is made by tree and for paper if we start cutting tree that will be more dangerous for the human being, so according to me instead of changing our system firstly we should have to bring change in our usage habits, if plastic bags not burnt-out in atmosphere, not thrown everywhere then it can be 100% recycled every time and that will save our resources also.
