Our culture is not decaying anyways.
Festivals are an important part of any culture and I think we still celebrate the festivals with the same enthusiasm and fun.
It is just evolution. We are just advancing.
If people kept on thinking the way their forefathers did, the world would never change.
It is just that we are getting modern.
Though we have an impact of western culture on our culture and today's generation but that doesn't mean that our culture is decaying.
Although we wear jeans and skirts but that doesn't mean we have forgotten to wear sarees or suite.
This is just changing and we need to accept it this is just modernization and without it, our country can't develop.

Hello friends,
I feel our culture is decaying many in present days, English words have originated from Sanskrit and Hindi, which should make us proud of speaking our national language. Speaking English for development of our country is definitely a great way to make a mark on the global scene, but China, France, and Germany are far ahead of us in all aspects yet they proudly converse in their own language. Children are forced to speak English by their elders for better jobs etc. If these countries can be developed by speaking their own language, why can't we?

During 1830s lord Macauley, a British minister visited India and found the richness Indian culture he gave a statement that I've travelled across the boundaries of this country in if we wanna rule it we have to destroy its culture. And there starts our culture decaying. Gurukul was replaced by modern schools, Sanskrit by English, classical dance by western dance and many more. I'm not saying that it was bad, but every country needs amendments in its culture with time but losing culture totally from our lives is bad. A culture of a country define its people and throwing away the values of culture is bad.

No, I don't think so. Culture is something that must and will change with generations. Just because it changes doesn't mean its decaying. You see people do things that bring comfort and increases their well-being. Back in those days, people used to wear this and sarees. But in today's generation is wearing jeans and skirts. It is because they are more comfortable to work with, takes less time to wear, easier to maintain and also have the ability to hold stuff (pockets). Now do this and sarees are worn in functions as they are more elegant.
The argument that "children don't respect their parents nowadays, they watch tv whole day" are from a point of view when they (parents) were kids. I am pretty sure that they have also got such comments from their parents (this is called juvenile). Yes, it is true that we are becoming more nuclear families, but it is because we have enough resources to live independent.
If you see countries like Japan they are more cultured and orthodox than us but have embraced western technology and fashion more than us (in fact they pioneered in technology).
So what I say is embrace what is good and leave what is bad. Develop our culture guys and girls :).

I think Indian culture is not decaying. We see every year people celebrate every festival with a lot of happiness. Festival is an important part of an Indian culture. I want to say our culture is decaying, our lifestyle is changing. Do girls wear shorts that mean they forgotten their culture? No, she respects their elders, celebrates every festival.

I think the humans are adopted only those stuff that they found easy to them. In 90 centuries we Indians are having many of our good cultures like that, yoga, wearing kurta, payjama, saaries, respect our elders by touch elders feet and some having bad cultures like that early age marriage, dowry system, doing pee in open, equality in society, caste system etc. Our Indian culture is like our treasure and we don't throughout by adopting western culture but now in 20 centuries we are educated people and educated people are smart they adopt only what they find right for the people and society. So we adopt some of their western cultures like maintaining good quality of life, improve in dresses, bridge the gap between two sex, eating pizza and burger etc and I don't think so that our culture is decaying. Because we try to put ourselves in better than the earlier lifestyle. But at end of the day, we humans could not adopt some good cultures like time punctuation, cleanliness, innovation, work complete before deadlines etc that is more needed in now in these days.
Thank you.
Thank you.

No such thing as "Indian culture". There are cultures the subcontinent. Culture is the cream of a civilization. Civilization erroneously understood as people popularly is essentially the framework on which culture stands. So language is civilization but poetry/satire is culture. What has happened is that over time (not now, since long before independence) our civilization (in which lies our values/worldview) has been replaced by the western civilization (values). The culture is adjusting to sitting atop this western civilization.

Yes our culture is being spoiled. But only by us.
We are the one who is adopting western culture. First of all, we should have respect to our culture, then we will not even think about adopting western culture. We think that western culture is better than our culture. But the truth is that, weatern culture is really simple and easy to follow whereas Indians' is bit tough to follow. As we prefer not strain too much for our culture we go for western culture and we also name it modernization, which is really cause by our laziness. As a matter of fact, western people don't celebrate Diwail, Pongal, then why do we have to celebrate valentine's day? As a citizen of Indian we have greatest responsibility to reform our culture.

No, Indian culture is not decaying, Like all culture in the world, India culture is evolving.
When cultures come in with the other culture, they pick their best aspects and reject the bad aspects. That's how culture survives.
