Remixing an old song is acceptable as long as it does not hamper the taste and essence of the original music. I find most of the people having the misconception that the young generation could be influenced only by remixing old songs and adding lots of loud music into it. But the fact is, there are many youngsters who have a ample love and taste for good Indian music. The music of RD Barman was rocking enough on those days. Every song has its own sweetness and according to me addition of loud music does not add any other extra glamour to the song. The original feel of the song somewhere gets lost in the midst of such loud music. Nevertheless, remixing of old songs like "Saiyaan dil mein AAna re" or "Mera Piya gaye Rangun" have made these age old songs come more familiar to the youngsters.

To conclude, creative remixes that do not hamper the originality of the song could definitely be entertained but imposition of vulgar scenes and abusive words as a part of the remix strategy surely spoils the essence of the original composition.

I also agree to the point that remixing is a good trend. Because remix of any song doesn't ban you to hear old songs. Remix is just for the youth so that they could enjoy the loud music which is not there in the old songs. Generally youth like loud and enjoyable music and therfore they listen the remix songs and we cannot say that they remixing is harming our society no not at all everybody in the society has right to listen to whatever they want so those who love the original songs can go for them while those who love rocking numbers can surely go for them.

NO, Obviously its not a good concept, remixing causes a loss of originality. Now a days remixing is nothing but adding the Rock Music with old songs. You can find easily that each remixed songs contains only the Rock music not a simple or slow music. If you say that many peoples likes the remix songs, so i want to clarify that peoples likes only the Rock music with high bass and high frequency. if peoples want such kind of music so why the remix songs only, develop the new songs with such kind of stuffs at least our old and popular songs will not lost their originality.

Look my dear friend ajay! Here we are discussing about the Remixing is a good trend or not, we are not talking about the mood of individuals.

Who told you that when peoples are in good mood they require remixes songs only & how you can decide the mood of peoples. Fact is old songs are not composed by Electronic musical devices, they are composed by different type of our ancient instruments which is still very melodies. So why we remixed the songs, did you heard one thing- "old is gold". I think there is no need to exhaust the reputation of old songs just for high frequency musical beats.

If people wants high beats compose new songs that's it.

Music is a geometrical series of words and sounds if we just mess its order then we find only noise. Sound & words have a dirrect connection to our feeling so first, we set these words to make a sense & feeling full but now after setting them we are mixing it where we are going.

But it depends only on people' intrests.

The concept of remixing is good in today's generation. Because youth in today's generation is not that much interested in listening the old songs but after remixing the songs, listener to that songs will be more than the previous.

I think remixing is a good idea and trend because today wants a fast and furious music. It has same benefits and some problems also. Benefits are that many people are getting job on the of their interest in this job and the new generation is also getting revised by the old songs and problems are that "old is gold" some songs should not been touched because the remix make them impure and takes its soothing and blemishing feeling.

Hai,

Music is a art of creativeness, innovative one, remixing of song like rebirth of song with new energy, it do not change any content of song or feel in the song,

Remixing of song not only of old songs, but it may be any song with mixing of effectiveness were many listeners like the song.

I agree with what ammu said. Remix is enjoyable if the tempo and the feel of the song is not lost in the remixed version. The recording of the old songs was done obviously in non computerized studios and when we hear that stuff in our iPods and cell phones, the song will not be having soothing effect, so in that case remixing is appreciable where the song is rerecorded with all new voice and beats. Eg-i believe that most of you've heard "wo chali, wo chali', composed (remixed) by Bombay vikings where only first two lines have been taken from the original track and then the lyrics of the song changes to English. This sort of remix is appreciable. Having said that, remixing new songs is sometimes nice, but as said by others, most of the times it irritates and the original's track's melody is lost and what remains is only rocking and grooving beats.
