Yes, this is true that it is modern era. For the blessings of science and technology, we can easily do those things which were beyond of our thoughts one day. And in presents, we are proceeding towards making the whole world digital. I also support the idea of the paperless office. We are already able to do some works via internet access, like- online shopping, payment, banking, depositing money, admission in schools or colleges etc.

But we have to remember that our country is not a developed country, it is a developing country. In the rural side, people have no idea about the computer. They don't any how to use it. Even there are many villages in the mountainous region, where electricity does not reach till now. Leave those areas, if we search in our own town, we can get many people, who are not serious about digital India. We can't make India digital only with those people who are aware and serious about digital India. We have to make all people aware.

Not only that, in America the Avg Net speed is 13 Mb/s And Avg. Peak net speed is 54 Mb/s. Where India has 6.5 Mb/s Avg net speed and 29.7 Mb/s Avg peak net speed. This bad net speed sometimes hampers the daily life. The bad net connection interrupts the online banking, depositing money, online admissions in school or collages, office works etc.

Nowadays social crimes are increasing at the rate at which science is moving. Many internet hackers, international terrorists are hacking the secrete documents of the nations and abuse that. So there is question arises about security.

Some people are telling that if we can make India paperless, we can save a number of trees. Yes, it is obviously true. But we have to see. It takes 24 trees to make one tone of uncoated non-recycled printing and office paper. And one tree makes 8333.3 sheets. If a factory has the capacity to use 4 trees to make 33,332 sheets. They will use 1460 trees in a year. But in the maximum state, it cuts down nearly 15.08 lakh trees development project of road widening. Besides, that people cut down trees for making houses, multi-storied buildings, fly-overs, bridges. So the number of cutting trees for roads, flats, bridges is more than the number of cutting trees for paper. So we can save very few number of tree, which is like dropping a glass of water in the sea. We have to reduce cutting trees from all sides. Stop using paper is not a solution.

So firstly, we have to make our citizens aware of digital India and we should delivery the knowledge of computer in the rural areas. We have to make them not only literate but also well-educated. We have to make them informed about the specialty of computer and internet excess. The economic condition of our country must be strengthened. Only then we can make digital India and paperless office. Before these it is impossible.

Hi this is Jitendra kumar,

As per my views on this topics are, Yes there should be paper less offices in the every part of country. Because we live in the progressive world in terms of Technology, Culture, life style, etc. These all categories are going to improve day by day, so why we will concerned the prevalent outdated method in life using of paper instead of the latest technologies, these technologies become part of every individual one which gives us not only enhancement some of extent in your life but also make each and everyone feel easy in very aspect of life.

The Advantage of paperless offices are following:

1. First one it will be one time expenditure.

2. Digitized world become more reliable for each and every one to access the information at any time from any where.

3. Less paper work will be increased the more and reliable work.

4. The loss and damage of the data will be less.

5. The cost of the paper will be overcome. Which will be helpful to stop the cutting of the trees and will also be useful to make environment friendly and pollution free for us.

Hello, everyone.

In this discussion, I agree with all the participants who think that paperless office is not possible but I have doubt in my mind that.

Would we remain in the same thinking where technology in day by day is going to be increased?

Would we will not use the mobile phone, computer, email, social media in our office.

Clearing out this idea.

I have a suggestion that.

1) Paper less office will save money of the organisation. As one paper is costing around 4 rupees.

2) If something is being wrong, we are tearing it thus losing money.

3) We will be more eco-friendly as the paper is coming from the tree, wastage of paper means wastage of trees.

4) We will save more data, will easily access data when required.

5) We will make our citizen more participants in our work.

6) wWe will understand them easily.

7) We will support digital literacy.

Though it will also cause some trouble. Like,

1) Security of data.

But enhancing our security like authorised user can do so.

2) By saving data in more than one place.

But having these matters solve we can make our office paperless.

As far as my views are concerned I think completely paperless office is myth because it is not possible to completely change the system. As you listen the dictum “Rome was not built in a day”. Now a days, due to availability of computer less work done on paper because all the information are available on computer through internet. There are different kind of devices are available in the market like CDs, pendrives etc. For storage data. This cause less dump of files in the office. Branches does not look like mess. Any kind of data can be search on the computer which is not possible on paper file so it take less time to find out the data. It save time and money also.

But fully paperless office is not possible because afterall computer is a machine and caused misplace of important data, data can be corrupt on system and might be met with an accident. So, it is necessary to keep a paper file also so that unnecessary inconvenience may not occur at the time of urgency. Other thing is this, everybody cannot afford computer and internet and some important letters needs in paper form.

Hi there. "NOW WE ARE LIVE IN DIGITAL WORLD". As the topic named "paperless" means there is less use of paper or reducibility of use of paper. Yes, I want to say that "Paperless office" really exist but don't get amazed it is adopted by abroad already but not in INDIA. In the case of paperless, there is a use of "DIGITALIZED PAPER" instead of normal paper. digital paper means if you want to send an application to your BOSS then you write the application in MSWORD and send to him through E-MAIL or whatever you prefer.

Obviously, there will be some benefits than the traditional one. Those are

1. Time consume.
2. Less workload.
3. No complexity.
4. Papers will be stored in an organized manner with the help of Database concept.
5. No physical damage etc.

But some demerits are may occur because "100% perfect does not exist".

1. Backup should be required.
2. Machines (Comp) are required.
3. The employee should learn office work including computer work.

I hope you like my thinking on this topic. Thanks for reading.

Hi, in my work as well as private life we move more and more to a paperless office. I have my most important documents scanned, with professional softwares, which a) scans fast, accurate and make the size of the file smaller b) have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) built in. With the OCR for searchable PDFs, you can easily find files 5 or 10 years old, I can just type a keyword or invoice number to search and get it immediately highlighted in all selected files all phrases where this term is mentioned. In our work, using many certificates, and having requirements for the legal archiving (some documents shall be kept for many years, by law) we managed to agree with the authority that our scanned archive replaced the paper one, since the scan quality and file search is extremely easy. Last but not least paperless office is an environmental friendly solution :).

If you are interested, we use ExactScan Pro (which included OCR) for this. Greetings.

Hello everyone, my name is Raj.

My views on the paperless office is that in this world where everything is changing rapidly so the paperless office is acceptable and inevitable. Since almost every office work which can be done on paper can be done on a computer or say electronically. This system provides a secure and time-saving method of doing official work. By this we can send a large amount of data from one part of world another part will one click and almost all the office are using this. It reduces the chance of corruption that can be done on paper but by this, almost every one of the documents can be verified electronically. So this is system is good to accept. There are some issues relating to the working extent of this system it can be done with the help of internet and at least general knowledge of working on the computer a d in rural there is a lack of both the facilities. So the government has to work on that issue.

In my view, Paperless office can be a reality in coming 5 -10 years and it may also be reality in present time in some MNCs. As per my view, paperless office is one where day to day works are being done by means of technologies without wasting unnecessary papers. Offices without files and folders can't work properly.

Its always become important to keep a hard copy of important or confidential documents. Today's in every government organization, email is considered official which helps in getting the work and decision very fast but still we receive or deliver the hard copies of important documents that we already got through mail. So these things can't be avoided instantly.

So, in my opinion we should avoid wastage of paper as possible as we can and make our offices a paperless surroundings and contribute a little in making the world eco- friendly and pollution free.

No, paperless office is not possible. Although almost work has been digitalised but still we need paper for some work, everywhere and for every work digitalised work is not possible. There are many works which has to be done on paper only for eg when we purchase something online bill is generated online and when they parcel the product they send us bill of that product and for some products like electronic devices if they have warranty or guarantee then they send guarantee and warranty cards as well. Secondly, if someone is having newspaper, magazines or books publishing business then they can't replace it with computer screen. Third Ex, is although now online exams are started but for solving questions we need paper to compute the answer from options given to us. So, somewhere it is necessary to use paper. So, paperless office, in reality, is not possible.

In my opinion paper has got its own importance and nothing can replace it, likewise robos are doing all the activities like men still the man is not accepting them because if that is the case human being will lose his importance, and everybody will become lazy. That will rule our universe. In the similar way even though for temporary purpose it may play a vital role but after some days the condition of the digital papers will also be like that.

1) More over the usage of that is not comfortable.

2) There is no security.

3) We cant distinguish among them.

One more important point here :.

People cant read from the computer. Like the difference between book and computer. When we read from book we feel very comfortable, but that is not possible with the computer. And people wont have that much patience to sit in front of computer and read from it.
