Everyone thinks that EVs are green vehicles. But do you know that for charging the EVs, first, we need to burn fossil fuels and convert that thermal energy into electrical energy.
And that energy is used later on for charging EVs.

Some of you may say that there are renewable energy sources like solar. Still, you should also know that solar and other renewable energy sources are not yet sufficient enough. It's just a tiny factor in our total energy consumption.

So in one way or another, we are using fossil fuels.

But when we convert energy from one form to another, energy is always wasted.

So, in my opinion, India is somewhat ready for EVs. Still, we should also focus on increasing our renewable energy sources to power these EVs, so we do not need that much fossil fuel in the future.

NITI AAYOG is mulling over giving a target to state public transporters to deploy a certain percentage of electric vehicles in their new orders, while it will refrain from coming out with a policy on electric vehicles.

As per an estimate, India at present has 1 to 1.5 lakh electric vehicles and it is projected to grow to about 5 per cent of the total vehicles in the next five years. Of the about 24 million vehicles sold in India in 2017-18, electric vehicles accounted for barely about 1 per cent.

Indian govt sets the deadline for all internal combustion engine by 2030.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and the government has decided to procure electric cars from manufacturers in India and make them available.

Mahindra was already launched e20plus and eVerito in India.

I didn't think that India is ready for electric vehicles as there is a lot of traffic in India so it's difficult to provide the electric vehicle facilities and as well as the cost of electric vehicles is also high as it runs on electricity it is rather costly than petrol, diesel because you not only drive the vehicle with electricity but you may use other vehicle facilities too or else if you go a long drive then it will cost you so much in your bill that comes from the electric car, so until any good scheme with less money on this electric vehicle will launch we must use the regular petrol, diesel-run vehicles only.

Instead of that, it will reduce the pollution level in the atmosphere and the government will not money afford much on reducing the level of pollution by gadgets.

Hello everyone, I am Sanchita Dwivedi.

I believe India is not fully ready for electric vehicles yet. Being a developing country, India still needs to make several improvements, such as upgrading infrastructure, modifying roads, and installing more charging stations. Although efforts are being made, it will take time for widespread adoption.

While electric vehicles (EVs) are eco-friendly, they are still quite expensive. However, it's important to note that they are a one-time investment; after that, the running cost is significantly lower, contributing to both sustainable development and reducing pollution.

On the positive side, more people are starting to use EVs, and the sales of electric vehicles in India are steadily increasing, which is a promising sign for the future.

Hello everyone.

Today's topic is India ready for electric vehicles or not.

In my point of view, now India is ready for all new technology like EV, but with some conditions.

Due to increase in pollution and fuel cost we should going towards Ev. Electric vehicles produces negligible pollution and also the weight of Ev is lighter than petrol or diesel operated vehicle. But it is also connected to fuel (coal) for producing electricity for charging of lithium batteries, because in India there is no sufficient amount of renewable energy for charging batteries. Apart from this, in India there is only few EV charging station, So there is one more problem waiting in line for long time to charging EV.

So, finally we can say that India is ready for Ev if production of renewable.

Hi everyone, I am Khushboo.

In my opinion, yes, India is ready for the electric vehicle, because, among the 20 most polluted cities, 13 are from India. Pollution caused by vehicle is one of the top contributors of air pollution. The electric vehicle is Eco friendly. Also, India has been manufacturing and successfully using electric motives that can pull train coaches of 1000 of gonna of the load. This has not only saved the fuel like petrol and diesel but a contribution towards the environment. According to manufacturing and using an electric vehicle is not a big deal for India. And according to a report by Niti Aayog, India can save 64% of passenger road-based mobility relates energy demand and 37% of carbon emission by 2030 by using electric vehicles.

Hi Guys!

In my opinion, India is ready for electric vehicles right now, but in some parts of the country, it's not. We will certainly start using these electric vehicles facility in nearby years in every small and big districts and cities. And it will be a great initiative by govt if this implements in almost every small and big districts and cities.

We are also not ready because as many of the people are not well known or don't know the benefits of these electric vehicles. So they must be taught about this kind of vehicle.

If it happens it will solve the problem of pollution more than half of the total pollution that is by the emission of carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxides and almost a quarter of the hydrocarbons emitted into our air.

Thank you!

If we see, the culture of electric vehicles is growing day by day all over the world. But if we talk about the trend of electric vehicles in India, So as per my opinion the Country is not fully ready for this trend (changes) at present,

There are many of the reasons behind it, Such as;

1) The condition of the roads in our country, No Doubt the development in our country is going with the best of it's that it could be. But the thing is that at present most of the parts of the country is been untouched by development.
2) The reliability of the people on the cheap products, irrespective of the loss to the environment.
3) The loss of awareness among the people about the benefit of replacing vehicles running on petrol and diesel with electric vehicles.

Hello everyone.

Yes, I firmly believe that India is ready for electric vehicles.

As the world's leading populated country where pollution is a major problem that can be resolved by the use of EV motors to some extent. Ev major problem is with the battery which is made up of lithium and recently India found a large amount of lithium ore in Jammu Kashmir. This will surely give rise in EVs. The road construction is also managed by our transportation minister Nitin Gadkari who plans to increase the use of EVs in the country. Lots of investments are made by the government and many companies such as Tesla, Tata, Maruti, and so on are working day and night to make it affordable and reliable. Hope we see a new India and pollution-free India.

Thank you.

In my view, india is still not ready for E-Vehicles. Because rather than to focusing on core cause of pollution, we are just wondering and giving priority to the end result I.e to produce E- vehicles.

It's not like that, here I disagree with all those who said yes. Because see E- vehicles want electricity to charge. Which causes a heavy demand for electricity. And we all know that in India almost 80% of power plants are thermal power plants, which use coal to produce electricity. This pollutes the environment to a far greater extent as compared to the present scenario.

So, first of all, the government should decrease the heavy dependence on electricity from thermal power plants. And then after, our society is ready for the change.

Thank you
