My answer would be yes. Because population and pollution of India are increasing day by day. Price of petrol and diesel is also increasing day by day. We need to solve these problems by accepting the electric vehicles in our country. We know that it's initial cost is high but it's running cost is very low as compared to petrol or diesel vehicles. Torque t6 is the best ever bike in India and it is the fastest bike in the world, only the cost is high but we can afford this, it's price is only 1.5 lacks rupees. So electric vehicles are the future technology of our country and we have to accept it before time.

The country is not ready for an electric vehicle as in India people don't have proper space to walk on roads where the govt will build the charging stations?

As it takes 5-6 hours of charging for the long distance of travelling it would be much wastage of time. This project for India is on the thinking stage the implementation could take more 10-15years.

Hi everyone, I have read most of the opinion suggesting that India is not ready for EV because it requires large time to charge and more space for charging stations. But the EV has more advantages that overcome its disadvantages. Yes, it will take time to fully convert to EV but initiative must be required not all over the country but in heritage sites and metro cities. It will come as a start to reduce pollution and other environmental impacts of fossile fuel based vehicles.

Thank you.

Hello friends,

Myself Bhargav.

I think India is still in the preparation stage for electric vehicles because.

1. The electric charging stations are not available everywhere in India except for the metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru and recently in the upcoming capital Amaravathi by KIA motors. Due to this fact they are not preferable for long distance drives.

2. Initial cost, battery cost, less no of sources for batteries, time for charging are making people not to prefer electric vehicle.

3. In order to reduce pollution in many metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai etc and make eco-friendly.

4. The government has also launched schemes like FAME (faster adoption and manufacturing of electric vehicles) I & II and sanctioned a huge sum of amount for the development of hybrid and electric vehicles by providing subsidies on electric vehicles.

5. Private organizations like Mahindra and Mahindra has also stepped forward by introducing the electric versions like Reva, e2o and by constructing many electric charging stations in the major cities.

6. Recently ola, an online cab booking service has also launched its electric vehicle project in Nagpur in collaboration with Mahindra, as a part of its mission electric programme.

7. Some private organizations are forming partnerships like Mahindra and ford, Suzuki and Toyota to make electric mobility solutions available at an affordable for the Indian consumers.

Conclusion:

Electric vehicles in India are still in the developing stage which is being promoted by the government as well as the original equipment manufacturers (automotive industry) in order to make the eco-friendly environment and cost-effective journey for the passengers.

Yes, I think India is ready for EV because the pollution in the metro cities is increasing day by day. The price of petrol and diesel is increasing day by day and for this, we have to use EV. As my friend said that charging station is required so the government is planning for this.

India have thinking on that electrical vehicles. Because in our India electricity power are not available every where. But we can provide the charging system to vehicles same like as mobile. So people can be use vehicle hole day.

Because in our India the petrol rate and diesel rates are increasing day to day. And also pollution are increasing.

As we accept that today the price of petrol and pollution increase day by day but the mileage and power give to the engine only by petrol. Which is not given by electric vehicles. Today petrol pump available every where and takes very short time to fill petrol tank of the vehicle. But electric vehicles takes lots of time to recharge. Some time it's seen that electric vehicle are fail to pick more than 6 people due to bad engin quality. And the speed of electric vehicles also a problem for those who want to reach their destination very soon. Now most of the people prefare petrol vehicle rather than EV.

Hey friends.

I think it will be the best initiative if India will have electric vehicles and ban patrol vehicles. And as Shanmu said electric vehicles are 100% eco friendly.
