When a country brings an innovation, it usually influences lots of other sectors related to that innovation. Before bringing that innovation the country must prepare that particular sector so that the innovation can be accepted. India is a developing country, a huge amount of people suffer from poverty here, huge amount of rural regions suffer from electricity and transportation problems also. Of course, our country is looking on what matters. The transportation sector is developing, and people are trying hard for a better lifestyle, but still, I think we are not ready for EVs. The cost of its battery is almost 40 to 50 per cent of the vehicle, also due to electricity problems in rural regions, charging is difficult. Most importantly we need proper awareness about pollution to accept the EVs. But also we can't ignore that we are in the initial stage of development in this matter. In present days, India is not ready for EVs, we need a properly developed transportation system, electricity, lifestyle, lithium supply and most importantly, awareness to accept this innovation.

In India we have a large population, so we want more electrical energy to launch EV vehicles. But some companies like Tata and Mahindra companies are launched their EV cars in India. Even though, the people are in India are not quite interested to buy the EV vehicles, because of lack of EV infrastructure, and we need a charging system and also storing an electric energy is not a easy one, it it very tough thing.

Hello all,

I would like to put my thoughts here by stating that we are not 100% ready to go all-electric. Various reasons are that people really enjoy driving petrol and diesel engines because it is affordable and also much easier to maintain. If India has to go all-electric there should be more awareness of how E vehicles could be a value add to the environment as well. Now, let us talk about the pricing of electric vehicles they are priced much higher than a normal petrol/ diesel engine. The cost of the battery is 40 to 50% of the vehicle cost which makes it even more expensive to maintain it.

We should work on infrastructure, Supply chain on how to manufacture and sell it at affordable prices, ease of use, and convenience of battery charging plants last. We are in the beginning of an era of EVs but this will take much longer than we can ever imagine.

If we see, the culture of electric vehicles is growing day by day all over the world. But if we talk about the trend of electric vehicles in India, So as per my opinion the Country is not fully ready for this trend (changes) at present,

There are many of the reasons behind it, Such as;

1) The condition of the roads in our country, No Doubt the development in our country is going with the best of it's that it could be. But the thing is that at present most of the parts of the country is been untouched by development.
2) The reliability of the people on the cheap products, irrespective of the loss to the environment.
3) The loss of awareness among the people about the benefit of replacing vehicles running on petrol and diesel with electric vehicles.

Hello all.

I gonna share my thoughts about this topic, I'm glad to say that our India was accepted for electric vehicle, which was reduced air and soil pollution in our country, but it was not suitable for India because of the climate, road, less maintenance there was an possibility of firing and blasting of battery.

In future, all generation will use the electric vehicle as normally. But we should have the knowledge about the electric vehicles.

India is making significant strides towards adopting electric vehicles (EVs) through government initiatives like the FAME scheme and the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan, which provide incentives and support for EV buyers and manufacturers. However, the country faces challenges such as insufficient charging infrastructure and the need for power grid upgrades to handle increased loads. While urban areas are seeing a faster deployment of charging stations, rural regions lag. Overall, India is on the path to embracing EVs but requires substantial infrastructure and technological advancements to achieve widespread adoption.

Greetings to everyone!

I am going to share my points on this topic.

In my point of view, India is not ready for electric vehicles because India is one of the largest transport usage nations in EV the distance travelled for a full charge of the battery is less. So we couldn't go for long distances and Indian roads will not be suitable for Ev's. But in the current situation, the fossil fuel rate will increase and it will not be available for our future transportation so we definitely depend on EVs in future but now India is not ready but in future, it will be ready and make some achievements in Ev.

Greetings to everyone,

We are here to discuss Is India ready for EVs or not? So, in my point of view, India is not ready for EVs currently but will be in the very future as Our country is growing in solar power systems very fast. And it will come with many job opportunities for the young generation.

Conventional energy sources are running out day by day and polluting the atmosphere as well. It's time to find a path for innovation in future that supports nature. Thank you.

Hello everyone.

In my point of view, India is not completely ready for EV. In India we have a large population, so we need more electric energy. And we don't have sufficient electric charging infrastructure. Companies like Tata and Mahendra have launched EV vehicles, but still, people are not ready to buy EV vehicles they are choosing petrol and diesel vehicles because of their affordable prices. Therefore, first, we have to overcome these stages and then we can take the NextStep.

Hello! I think India is now ready for Electric Vehicle. Our government is spending a lot of research on how to expand EV market. The infrastructure of India is now at a higher peak. Many highways have been developing in the last 10 years. Also, the Indian government is focusing on charging station availability. In FAME-2 government is providing different schemes to increase the market of EVs.

The government has to focus more on the development of infrastructure in every city.
