Well, I believe everything has its pros and cons and so does social media. Social media is a very good platform to connect with people across the globe and gain as much knowledge as possible. It is the earning source for various individuals and businesses.

Talking about the cons, social media is impacting our lives in a negative way by affecting our mental and physical health. Youngsters and adults as well consider scrolling on media rather than utilizing that time in engaging in physical and mental activities which are beneficial.

I want to say that it also depends on the person who has access to these sites. As it is well said that you reap what you sow. And same applies to the usage of social media.

According to me, Social Media plays a big role in almost every person's life. There are a lot of pros and cons that I want to point out.

Pros:

Connectivity: Social Media plays an important role in the connectivity of people to their relatives, friends and beloved ones. Nowadays we all know how we are slowly disconnecting to our family and friends. Because of social media, we are at least in touch with them.

Business: Nowadays Social Networking sites are playing a big role in business organisations.

Those who don't have enough money to establish their own shop or office are running their organisation through social networking sites.

Cons:

Addiction to social media is one of the major problems of the new generation. Instead of utilizing it, they are simply wasting their time in scrolling up and down.

Social media is good for the people who have the ability to restrict themselves and use it for the sake of increasing their network with respect to their college or work so that they can connect to people and collaborate in order to develop together.

But social media has impacted this Generation of kids a lot as they are attached to their phones, longing for messages from their friends or just for mindless scrolling. It has deteriorated the ability of their brains, as they just keep scrolling for hours and hours wanting to be entertained when they can be spending that time in order to read something new or do an activity which trains their brain and increases the memory power.

Social media is having somewhere a good impact but sometimes it will dangerous for the new generation because of its increasing use of youth, it also has a positive impact as we can connect current updates through social media, and also can use social media for communication worldwide.

Advantages and disadvantages of social media:

Dear friends social media sites are good or bad it depends on you because as you sow so shall you reap.

If you use it for knowledge purposes then it provides you know if you use it for entertainment purposes then it provides you entertainment. So, everything is not bad, it depends on the situation because a school bell sounds irritating at 9:00 am but the same sound is melodious at 4:pm.

Social media is like two-edged swords, if you are using it then it will consume you and reduce the watching attention span or it's beneficial if you watching the right content at the right time, everyone can showcase their talent and get some fame or money for their talent and some social media promote free speech where you can put your thoughts on critical issues or they also provide platform if something bad happens with you nearby you can post that, chances of getting justice on that case is higher.

I think both social networking sites have advantage and disadvantage it is a relevant part of our life, it keeps us up to date on what happening in the country.

For some people, it is the source of their income but for some, it is just a distraction, I think it totally depends on you how you use these social networking sites.
