Foreign Television Channels are Destroying Our Culture

God evening friends, I think all the foreign channels are not bad, also most of the Indian television channels are not good.

Say for instance discovery, NGC, History channels etc are showing many good documentaries, have the quality of info regarding science, history, business, innovative ideas etc.

But in contrary most of the Indian English News channels having the slave mindset adopted from colonial British and Macaulay way of education indulge in airing of biased news, twisting of facts, aligning with one particular community or religion or political party and ignoring attacks and conversions problems faced by other religion and community and also lobbying for foreign imported culture like gay life style and Freedom without any responsibility etc.

And indulge sensationalism and shady journalism, avoiding intellectual debate on national issues and totally ignoring positive aspects of our country and its rich culture, focusing only on spicy, negative and airing news and maligning particular community or organization or individual without any proof.

In fact, some of the documentaries shown in discovery channel on ancient Indian philosophy and pilgrimage site in Himalayas, Kethernath, with the respectful manner along with lines of Upanishads, without western prejudiced view and twisting of facts.

I agree that its us who has to keep a check on what we are adopting from what we see hence foreign channels can not be held responsible for the deterioration of out culture. But would you still say the same thing about a 10 years old kid who is watching a program in which two foreigners are using the swear words, wearing bikinis and getting intimate? Will you say the kid is responsible for what he is learning from it? Or I should ask- What (else) do you expect the kid to learn from this kind of program's? What we and specially our kids learn from what we watch is sometimes NOT really in our hands. We have to understand that it is the social responsibility of media to see that it is not harming the culture and the youngsters. Media is very powerful and as its said- With power comes responsibility. Yes, it applies to the Indian channels too but because of this fact foreign channels can't get away with it since they are the ones which started all of this.

With this I would like to say foreign channels are responsible for the effects it has on our culture and not only our but on the culture of their country as well.

I don't think foreign tv channels are destroying our culture. We always have a habit of putting blame on someone or the other for each degradation we face either in our life or in society. But what we forget is, it is us who is responsible for everything. If these channels are showing something which we feel is destroying our culture we should not follow it. After all we are educated Indians who can understand what is good and what is bad. What these channels are showing is there culture which anyways we should understand can't be blindly followed. But what our channels are showing is it our culture. ?

Macauley had done enough damage in revamping our education system in introducing English (even though English is a spoken language by 3% minority people all over world) to such an extent that patriotism will never come up for another hundreds of years or rather thousands of years by their policy of divide & rule, which is carried further by any political party for their Vote bank politics. Foreign intruders/invaders have seen to it in thousands of years in the past that no remnants of glorious history in Vedic period remains so that future generations will live with distorted history with slave mentality nurtured by the Westerners in Indian minds.

While handing over freedom, Westerners have seen to it that power is not shared by nationalists like Vallabhbhai Patel etc but purely by their Kala Angrez agents like Nehru since 1947 itself. Indian homes are flooded with foreign branded goods due to brainwashing advertisements over TVs to such an extent that swadeshi goods have lost their identity. Due to paid media in India, now what is remained to harm India & it's culture, even if no Foreign Television Channels are not telecast ?

I don't think that foreign television channels are destroying our Indian culture, it is foreign tv channel's right to show their culture, even all other country 's right to show their culture. If we taking positive way, foreign tv channels are beneficial to us. We can get information around the world by the foreign news channel, we can get different kind of knowledge by discovery, planet world, net geography channel these are from foreign TV channel there are so many other channel which provides information and knowledge.

In my opinion I don't think so Indian culture are destroying by foreign TV channel, it provides huge information regarding technology which is very important for today's generation.

Foreign channel reflect their culture and tradition what they have and its up to you whether you adapt or not.

India famous for their culture and tradition across the world but most of the people say that if some person watch foreign channels they forgot their Indian culture they wear jeans, designer cloth etc ya I know these type of cloth came from western culture.

So it's not means that if we Indian wear kurta pajama so we follow Indian culture, Indian people known for their brain sharpness, discipline, respect of their parent etc.

Although foreign channel like discovery, NGO, BBC etc provides knowledge regarding animal, new discovery, gadget, etc which we can't expect by Indian channel.

@Sumit gc. I think you are little bit wrong about your saying for Indian tv shows that the story revolves around only between saas and bahu but what are you thinking that foreign tv channels do not have a same based stories. Have you seen any foreign tv show?

Out of the topic, you should know that the best actors on the basis of acting are in our country as compared.

This topic is a whole dependent on the mentality and thoughts of the people.

I think that the foreign channels is not destroying our culture. Its depends on our thinking and leaning that, what I am getting from these channels and what is our thinking after watch. From these channel we improve our knowladge and we come to know about the word. For ex in discovery channel they tell us many funny fact of animals. In cartoon channels there are many program play, these program developed the childern's thinking and improve their ideas.

If we think about that there are many vulgar seen and program run in these channel we should not learn it or not use. Its for youth for their entetainment.

Hello friends according to my views foreign channels are not destroying our culture they are just improving our knowledge and shows about their culture.They are not saying to us to follow the culture of their.I think that india has very strong culture from any other part in the world.foreigners are keen to get indian culture not our indian man and i think that indians are mentally very strong than others so there is no point of foreign channels are destroying our culture.If we have control on us than what the channel even they own are not capable of changing our views and teaches us wrong...

Every coin having two side advantages and disadvantages means how it taking for benefit and useful means we use foreign channel for getting extra knowledge and leave it unnecessary things which are not important not need.
