Foreign Television Channels are Destroying Our Culture

Is Homosexuality a bad content? Homosexuality is a sexual preference. Now I can understand how the people having a narrow mindset can think this way, but since I know you are exposed to the internet, I expected better. Grow up and widen your mind. Improve your thoughts.

If we really compare in term of knowledge, then foreign television is much better then Indian because the technology they are using is much advanced. If you talking about their dressing. Then its people rights to wear what they like. Culture can't be destroy. This question is arise just because for young generation. Young people of India wants to be advanced like other country. But beside this journey you can't neglect your own culture.

"do you know that India is the only country where people bend and touch feet of the elders for respect".

I accept that lots of Indian television Channel like balika vadhu and more others they don't have a story without weeping.

Old people think that it is a part of culture but young generation knew that it's fake or just a idea to get TRP.

I bet, if you think foreign culture destroy Indian culture than your age is greater than 40. Vise versa.

According to me foreign television channels can not destroy our culture. We are responsible for that. As par my point of view we are learn many things like communication skill, language skill also and we also improve our ability. So it is our responsibility how to handle it.

Well, I don't think so that foreign channel destroy our culture. There are lot of English channels and it depends on person's channel choice. If they want to improve their language - 2, this is the best way.

If we watch the Hollywood movies, BBC news channels we learn lot of things like how to talk, read, write and listen their language. I often watch these channels and I improve myself in language - 2.

I strongly think that foreign TV shows especially like Star World, Zee Cafe etc and foreign products advertisements are strongly trying to attack our Indian culture by showing extra marital affairs, violence, fights in families, exposure to sexual encounters openly etc. We should understand that these things don't exist in our society. We Indians believe in family system and respecting each other and our parents.

When Indian youth, kids, women and all people watch such serials violence, extra marital affairs and infidelity seem acceptable to them. This happens because it is shown continuously on the television. Women are objectified in the western culture which can be easily seen in their TV shows, movies and advertisements etc. So think about it. It is an indirect attack on the minds of young people who start justifying lusting women, violence and various other crimes.

If this is not attacking our citizens and its culture, then what is? Some people have mentioned in their answers that it depends upon us what we need to accept from their shows. But what about the young minds especially the teenagers who have just begun to see the world and understand it.

Do these young minds really think about judging it? Watching television automatically shuts our brains and we just keep watching and putting in whatever stuff the television set feeds us. Do you really think that the young minds are going to filter the violence, crime and lust shown in these foreign TV series?

I do think that foreign channels are harming our culture because when anybody goes through a channel he forgets to live in the reality and goes into a world of imagination and he tries to imitate it. This attitude of course will harm our culture. If we people think that our culture is way better than any others then we should avoid these channels.

My friends we INDIANS have a great culture and what happened in earlier times was when British entered India and astonished about our way of doing things we all were having a accepting attitude all good things every one in the country was happy and enough thins to live. Now I'm saying a fact that is the British person some higher level ranking wrote a letter to the vice Roy of Britain that I don't think we can control the Indians since they are following a excellent system which inhibits in their culture and every one have good knowledge the answer from the vice Roy was this destroy their culture and make them believe they are wrong and mix other way of doing things. Till now we are not aware because we INDIANS have a good heart of accepting every one thus unknowingly we think bad about our culture and support them. Build a view of critical thinking then you will understand. IN BBC whenever they are showing INDIA they always shows some slums or other bad events EG: when INDIA conducted common wealth games the news from BBC was this out of poverty INDIA have hosted common wealth games. And they were only showing the bad events like steps falling down etc as all you said before we have negative sides but why British have to hi light that and hiding good things.

Take example of women dress cord INDIAN women used to dress neatly now we start following western does does fashion require showing of sexual organs. My request to every one is that wherever you go stick to our culture learn good things from them but don't allow to flow the sand under our leg. People respect the one who follow their own culture.

In my point of view the channel is not only change our culture so do not blame the foreign channels they don't ask you to change the culture we are only change the some sort of things based on habit, way of living dress codes etc. We are Indians so we don't copy from others we want teach our culture to foreign people that is a Indian culture.

Channel is not a problem humans the way of thinking is the problem.

In point of view, foreign television channels are not responsible for destroying our nation. Its totally depends up on us how to get the knowledge and information from them and everything depends upon viewers. So we are responsible for destroying a nation.

The term culture is something which our parents got from our grandparents and which we are getting from our parents and today if we say that by seeing some filthy or some foreigner channel we are losing our culture then I would like to say that this is not the foreign channel which are destroying our culture but this is we people who are not able to adere to our culture firmly.

Friends the only aim of any channel is to entertain the mass and some channel shows this type of programmes to which if some youth watch, it work as an entertainment for them but if same youth watch that same thing with his family it appears vulgarity to them and if we say that if that some youths are watching the vulgar scenes with their family then it doesn't mean that they lacks culture or moral but it is so because they have good understanding between them.
