I think extracurricular activities are as important as regular studies. There is a lot of advantages as if you play sports, you will get healthy. Extracurricular activities also improve the knowledge about outside world.
More importantly, it gives you experience. Like experience in giving a public speech, or writing an essay. And it improves the communication skills and also helps to meet new people. And the most important thing, children come to know their field of interest.
One more example to say extracurricular activities is us, look at us, we are doing group discussion to get placed. And if there are two schools wherein one school there is extracurricular activities whereas in another school there isn't. Then the school children of the second school can't compete with the children of other schools in activities like speech, group discussion. So it helps to build confidence also.
Most of the schools will have extracurricular activities, but it reduces when you see colleges, I think it should change.

Nowadays, we are seeing that children are forced to concrete on studies, marks. Etc thus result in stress, health problems, no knowledge on going trends.
But, the only solution is extracurricular activities especially sports, the cultural activities, competition likes debates, Group discussion etc why especially sports because this will help children from mental stress, increase stamina this will help the students to concentrate on study and Time management which will help in the future.
Another Extra curricular activity, will help to build their career in which they are interested upon and teachers should observe in which they are interested and help the students in building up their career in that particular field by providing more knowledge.

I think it is very important for children to learn extra curricular activities from childhood itself. The grasping power is more in children and by the time they grow up, they will become professionals in respective activities. Whereas if they start learning in adulthood, they may not be able to focus much. Children who do not participate in extra curricular activities are more dumb and cannot survive the competition as adults. Because the extra curricular activities help to develop a good personality, it must be made compulsory in schools.

Yes, I strongly agree with the statement given to us. In India, very few people choose their career in sports, movies, and other non-academic fields. This is because most of our parents don't allow children to choose their career of their choice. Most of us are forced to do engineering and medicine. So if we make extracurricular activities in school the children will find a platform to build their career in the interested field. Thus the government has to make stringent rules and should provide all amenities to achieve this policy.

In my opinion, alongwith the academics every school must try to motivate students towards extra curricular activities including sports, cultural etc. It will definitely help students to find their field of interest. Government should take solid steps toward this policy knowing the fact that countries like England, Japan and many more having very less population as compare to our country and still win plenty of medals in international level games like Olympics. However nowadays steps have been taken according by our government but still more efforts should be made in order to see our nation as all-rounder country in upcoming years.

Yes. Extracurricular activities should be treated on par with studies. They make children expand their thinking ability what we call as lateral thinking. Mental stress gets reduced by getting involved in sports and others. But in a country like India people of the middle class don't know the importance of extracurricular activities. They think everything is reading books, which is a big myth. According to me they just want their children to get settled in life with a good salary, but it is not their fault. So schools should make every student participate in those for their welfare.

Schools are the basic needs in the life of a human being. Extracurricular activities should be given equal importance with studies. If only studies mattered people would not have craved for hero and heroines' life. Studies make a person knowledgeable while extra curriculum makes personality and self-confidence. Extracurricular activities should be made compulsory.
