Smart cities in India is just like making-of the castle in air. India is the 6th economy in the world but stands at 122nd at per capita gdp. The population is major obstacles in the path of smart cities. I past years, the government declared the name of 100 smart cities that would be built in the future. But the whole concept failed as a huge amount of money required for this task.
Illiteracy is another region which will never allow making any city as smart, the live example is the new smart train in which the headphone is theft, such type of many examples is present in India.
Before making the city smart, people should be smart.

According to me, cities and towns having the high infrastructure, high-level communication, easy transport and access to every basic thing that makes life easy combines to make up a smart city or town. So the basic is "ease of life". Metropolitans and big cities are getting far more advantages than the rural areas to grow on these lines as such people are still lagging behind. The focus should be more on the roots than the main bark I mean we should first to connect our source of food, the farmers and the rural people to this growing world. Initiatives should b taken for their welfare first providing them a better quality of seeds, fertilizers, machinery, proper water & power supply and connectivity.
India, a country with a population of 132.46 cr out of which 66.46% comprises of the rural population requires to bring up a "Movement of Smartness" focused especially on rural population for over a decade. Do this then think of words like "smart cities and all". It takes time because the population of 132 cr is not a joke.

According to me, thedevelopment of smart cities has both pros and cons i. E, coming to pros smart cities gives scope to education, hospitals, transportation, needs for enjoyment like parks, greenery and so many, this helps the people who are living in cities and also in towns to lead their life.
But, Coming to cons, I would like to bring a point that for making or developing smart cities we need land for construction which indirectly effects the farmers who are really serving hard to run there life.
Hence I conclude that development of smart cities should start from villages by making use of agriculture machinery, electricity, water facilities. And their basic needs. Then we can dream and succeed for smart cities, smart India.

First of all, I'll like to clarify what actually a smart city means. Building a smart city does not only mean the construction of hospitals, schools, better transportation, better management system etc.
It also means using advanced technologies to govern all the above-stated amenities. It involves the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to make a direct communication between the government and the citizens.
As cities do already have many hospitals, educational institutions, roads etc. The task is to maintain them so that they can benefit the citizens in a more reasonable way.
And that can be achieved by transforming cities into smart cities.

According to the definition, smart cities are the cities which are refurbished and or developed by the urban development ministry of India in order to increase the quality of living, More opportunities for businesses, good health, sanitation and infrastructure for all.
Recently there have been 100 shortlisted cities under this scheme of government which are funded by the state as well as union governments and monitored by Union Ministry of urban development.
These projects are funded either by the way of Private-public partnerships or other means.
A smart city is the one which has all the basic amenities like good infra, Proper hospitals, Education for all, transportation and other sustainable management systems.

Before we have a smart city, we should have smart people.
India needs to develop their personality so as to pave the way to that goal. In order to reach from field goal to field goal there are certain milestones to cover and attempting to reach their alone is pointless. We need to cover them together. Only then we can have a SMART NATION instead of a city.

According to me, a smart city must give the best possible benefits to the poor. There should be no regional or category discrimination. A smart city is of no use without smart citizens, so we must give a quality education to all the citizens. A smart city is the means to make a country develop. A smart city can make the daily leaving of people a little different than normal which will encourage other cities to start the same initiatives and resulting in making India a developed country. We must attempt for a Smart city project and start an attempt to make a developed India and educated citizens.

Yes, I think we all need smart cities to live.
Smart cities provide us with proper education, infrastructure, administration, Health services, most important security and all that one need to live a good life.
Smart cities not only considers good human life but also takes into animals into consideration (that is cities that doesn't harm animals in any way). In that way, they also provide us a good environment as well.

Yes, We need smart cities because to do certain tasks our busy world has no time.
For eg: To read news, To get updated with the scores.
The need for smart cities are increasing so we need to have that.
It will be splendid. Smart cities are good if the are environment-friendly.
Because if we want to make a change then it should be a good change.
