According to me, Instead of making cities smart, we should develop smartness in ourselves. If we develop good thing in ourselves like: use of dustbin, avoiding misuse of patrol, don't splitting anywhere, follow traffic rule, help human being, avoid corruption, good governance etc. So we don't need to make smart cities, It's develop by itself.

Friends, first we should know that smart city does not mean having luxurious things in the city, smart city means having proper transportation systems like bus stations, railway stations, airports, and good road conditions. And in city there should be proper rules and regulations which should be followed by citizens, and other basic facilities like electricity and water, these cities will work as ideal for other cities and other cities will also try to develop itself, and also in development of smart city, there will be measurable increement in employment, which will be good solution of unemployment in india, and also tourists from other countries will be attracted to these cities, which will increase economy of india, so I think it will be a solution of many problems in India.

Hello guys,
In my point of view, yes, of course, we need a smart city but before this we need smart people. People are like bricks, and if we will use good quality of bricks and cement then building will be strong automatically. People of India are mostly uneducated and they don't have home and a proper school. So I think first, the government should provide a proper school in the village, job, electricity, water etc. When the people will get proper education proper job then the city will be converted into smart city. Government should decrease education rate, they should open a no. Of colleges, school.

Obviously, smart cities are needed for the shake of our overall development.
Smart cities mean availability of all the facilities, resources, 24*7 electricity, good infrastructure, medical etc.
This will help in growing industries business and all.
But, today I saw a post in social media that people are making the train bogy, footpaths dirty by throwing the unnecessary things like bottles, plastics etc. And the headline was like "the people need to get smart before making the city smart".

The urbanisation has been increasing day by day. As a result, the government of India under the prime minister Narendra Modi on 25th Jan 2015 launched "Smart City" project. This project aims at building 100 smart city throughout India.
Smart City is a dream of many people which indicates the development of the country. Smart City will enhance the standard of living of people. It also contributes to the economic growth of our country.
Smart City projects will also help to provide a lot of job opportunities for many people. In India, 80% of people reside in rural and villages.
The government should also focus on rural areas. It should provide all the facilities that are not available in the village-like education, hospital, drainage, water, electricity. Etc.
Finally, I conclude that India really needs smart cities, which will help to make India as a well-developed country.

Good Morning everyone,
Thanks for giving me the chance to share my opinion.
In my point of view, yes, we all need smart cities. For this, our pm Mr. Narendra Modi has created this scheme, we know smart cities can bring a smart country, for this we have to develop both big cities as well as villages also. Most of the villages are still under development. Most of the villages now also not got the proper livelihood. No water, no food, and not a proper shelter. So, a smart city is a big development, for this, we should create small developing communities in villages which will spread up and in this way both cities and villages can be got under development. Another aspect is unemployment, people from villages wouldn't get proper employment as compared to the people in cities. So, govt should assist them to get a job in their village so that they wouldn't b unemployed. In this way, we can change villages than cities and finally our country.
We concluded that we all should unite and change the small villages to be smart city and that smart city into a smart country.

It is always said that if you have to reach the top you have to start from beginning. Same is applicable for smart cities.
In order to achieve the dream of smart cities we have to star from beginning.
In India there are still many villages which can not get light, water. There are many places which are still lacking of roads transports etc.
So firstly, our government has to solve this type of problem so they that at least every village and cities have at least these basic facilities.
Once they all came under same platform then obviously we can area about a smart cities.

India wants to be a superpower, but first, it has to get into the list of developed countries. The conditions of lots of cities of India is worse. They don't even have proper hygiene facilities, educational facilities, full of pollution and a lot more. And we are talking about smart cities! First, these things should be taken care of, if India gets these problems solved then we can think of smart cities, but first we need good cities.
I mean - "What Is The Use Of Wearing A Tie If You Don't Have A Shirt On Your Body First".
To be the "BEST" you have to be the "GOOD" first. It is the part of the journey. You can't directly become the best.

Yes, we need Smart cities but first of all, we need to become smart then only there is a possibility of being our city smart. Most of the people in our country are idiots then doesn't know how to use the appliances or facilities provided by government. They were not thinking about of city or country and destroying them while misusing it. They even don't know where to spit or not they even not know how to use Sulabh Complex they would write something nonsense on the walls of these government toilets and many more public places as we see in railway toilets also. Government should not do anything in case of such type of peoples because they don't think what is the effect of such type of stupids activities over our society. Because of such type of peoples our India could not stand up with other developing countries. So if we want our city smart then it is our duty to suggest those peoples what is right and wrong. Then only our city will become smart otherwise, Government should invest a lot of money and because of these peoples, everything is becoming a problem for our country.

Yes, we really need smart cities in India. But before that, we need smart villages. This is the dream of Mr. R. Madhavan whom we have seen as an actor till now. And I totally agree with him.
At a place where we are today, we have sufficient facilities in our cities. What we actually lack is good facilities in villages. If we talk about India as a whole then firstly we should bring all the areas of India to one level and then talk about developing them further. What is the point in making a city smart and the village (at a distance of 200km near it) near it doesn't even has a proper water and drainage facility. Is it success to make a city a complete WiFi zone and the village nearby doesn't even gets a proper internet connection in not even one house.
So these are my views, firstly bring all the regions at equal levels or at least at 70% level of the cities, then try making all of them 200% of what they are.
