Before going to discuss this topic let's see the essence of smart cities, specially in India.
If we go 200 years back there was a need of industrial revolution to make our nation economically strong.
After that, If we see the last decade then we will find a tremendous technological revolution to make our nation technologically strong.
But presently the prime issue that our country facing is environmental sustainability. And I think this issue will lead to another revolution called a green revolution.
A smart city is nothing but one of the major steps taken as a milestone of this green revolution.
Smart city can be defined as the smart use of renewable resources to make our environment sustainable.
As we all know green building concept including rooftop solar panel, special ventilation system, underground water storage facility this all are the major component of a smart city. Smart transportation techniques which will reduce accidents many folds is also a smart city approach.
So, as per current scenario, implementation of the concept of the smart city in our country is the only solution towards this mejor issue called environmental sustainability.

Hello everyone.
Yes we really need smart city. As per my opinions, it is necessary to develop our city. Smart city means what? It means all people get all facilities related to their health, education, environment etc. But now it is not possible only those people who live in the urban area get all these facilities because they have money to get these facilities as per their need. But in rural areas, these all facilities are not provided because they are really poor to get these facilities so they migrate to urban areas for better life. I thought why they need to migrate in urban areas if all facilities provide them in rural areas also so they can also take advantage of it. They have also right to be a part of Smart city but only migration is not the solution there are so many solutions for that like free campaign in rural areas about latest technology how they can use it in their daily life easily, proper schools and colleges built in their areas give children proper education so they also go ahead in their life and make career. Now, India is developing country but after these changes, India will also a developed country so we really need smart cities.

Hello everyone, we are here to discuss whether our nation "NEEDS" smart cities?
We like to categorize ourselves as a growing nation, with our ambition set to be a global powerhouse.
We take pride in our cultural, technological, and economic achievements, but our cities image is tarnished by poor roads, congested houses, stinky lanes, and unreliable public transportation. This is what we need to change. To be a modern nation, we have to look like a modern nation, and the cities are the places where this can be achieved. Smart cities will not only look great but generate employment and revenues proportionally, it is designed to be an economic and social hub, with cutting edge facilities, what this young generation ambitions for. In my opinion, this is a grand move to change our urban life, one city at a time, making a greener and efficient township.
We have a very young generation coming up, with the largest urbanization move we have ever witnessed, and it's important to have the facilities in place to cater to its ambitions. I earnestly feel this is a stroke in the right direction for overall growth of a region and the nation as a whole.

Hello, guys.
Firstly, I would like to take your attention towards the fact that India is a developing country, where its a very big population live in the villages or rural areas. And most of them do farming as their occupation. We are also very known by the fact that the condition of farmers is not good in our country. They are mostly on debt. Their economical condition is not good. Their lives are so burst that they are commiting suicide. So here a question arises to us that Is it fair to go for the smart city projects where it requires a lot of big investments ?
I think it is not fair. Although "the smart city project " can grow up our country status, it can take our country towards the Developed status but it also creates a big gap between urban and rural.
I think the government should invest on the "the smart village project" rather than "the smart city project". It should provide the latest technologies, good academic facilities, etc.
By such type of initiative so that a big population get benefited to it. And also these initiatives can also take our country to the list of the "developed countries".
"THANK YOU".

In my opinion, First our government should help those poor people who do not have proper home to live, they do not have nutritious food to eat, they do not have proper clothes to wear, do not have money to save their families life if they suffer from any disease. For making smart city and for making bullet trains in India need lots of money and that money government should use first to help those poor people who need help. Smart cities are called smart only when there will not be any poor people in our country. After making smart city we cannot be counted in list of super power country until or unless we use those lots of money to help those needy poor people who are suffering daily and many poor people die in our country because of no proper food, no hospital for them and many of them can't able to educate their children because of money problem. Instead of wasting so much of money to make smart cities first government should use that money to help those poor people. After eradicating poverty then they should start to make a smart cities and bullet trains and then only we will be in list of developed countries.

According to me, yeah; we really need smart cities. Firstly everyone have to clear this thing that smart city means not only make our streets clean. Smart city means everything has to be connected with network smartly i.e. if we talk about solar energy system, water pollution, traffic jam, air pollution, noise pollution, development process, transportation system, Information system etc each and every field will be work smartly with networking system. Smart city means you get more and more value of work at the less effort. Everything will be done in easy way like transaction, bill payment, tracking the status of visa, getting the location, any type of service etc. But for making smart city, we have to invest large amount of money in millions or billions but after one time investment, city will save almost $19 billion money as compare the current position. After making our city as a smart city it will be ideal city for other cities. At the present time, 31% people are belong to urban areas but after making our city as a smart city this ratio will be automatically increase. So we really need smart cities.

Hi Friends, This is Sunil from Tamil Nadu. The Smart city is required if everyone in the country enjoys the basic necessity like a job, good healthy food, shelter, etc. America introduced smart city and they were successful but in India, it's completely a different scenario.
Farmers are suffering without adequate water and a lot of farmers were committed suicide.
A lot of agricultural lands are converted into residential lands in the real estate business which killed 20% of agriculture land.
Instead of forming a smart city, Government should focus on farmers and agriculture. They have to introduce schemes and provide a subsidy to the development of agriculture and ensure farmers are getting adequate water. The government need to develop village and provide free education and medical treatment to all the poor people in the village. If the government is not focusing on the farmers and agriculture lands then we need to import vegetables, rice and wheat from other countries. The government should invest in agriculture instead of forming smart city which is not necessary for India at present.

Hi, everyone. !
Today we are discuss about we really need smart cities. In my opinion. Yes we really need smart cities. Because smart cities are reduce the economic problem and pollution problem. But we have to some resources. (money and education people). But today life : education system is more complicated. For example: NEET exam (Tamil medium students doesn't understand the questions), Tamil medium student's can't speak English & other languages. So, first of all we are change to the education system. (to guide the students and social awareness and change to the old syllabus and include the CBSE syllabus in Tamil& English medium). Then smart cities means good transportation, education, physical methods (food, shelter, water) and reduce pollution, economic growth. Then, most important to improve the security system in India. (For example: recently - Ransomware virus is a type of malicious software that blocks to the access of personal data and threatens to public). So India provide security system and reduce hacker's. Then school and college to make a wifi system.
Thank you.

Yes, we need Smart cities but first of all, we need to become smart then only there is a possibility of being our city smart. Most of the people in our country are idiots then doesn't know how to use the appliances or facilities provided by government. They were not thinking about of city or country and destroying them while misusing it. They even don't know where to spit or not they even not know how to use Sulabh Complex they would write something nonsense on the walls of these government toilets and many more public places as we see in railway toilets also. Government should not do anything in case of such type of peoples because they don't think what is the effect of such type of stupids activities over our society. Because of such type of peoples our India could not stand up with other developing countries. So if we want our city smart then it is our duty to suggest those peoples what is right and wrong. Then only our city will become smart otherwise, Government should invest a lot of money and because of these peoples, everything is becoming a problem for our country.

Hello friends,
In my opinion, we really need smart cities. Because to fulfill the dream of "make in India", "digital India" firstly we need to make our cities smart and clean. The term smart means; increment in technology, 24 hours electricity and most importantly our education. If all these happen then we can say that our city is smart.
So, moving to the topic, to enhance our technology, to increase our economy and for the development of our country we really need smart cities.
And also I want all of your attention to our education. We need to improve our education system, The skilled teachers should be there to teach students, smart classes should have to be there through projectors and the classes should be more practical. Then we can make our city smart. "if our students will smart then our cities will be smart".
In conclusion, I want to say that we all should have to support the government to fulfill the dream of smart cities in India. We should have to clean our society and make others aware about this. And then the "swatch Bharat Abhiyan" can be completed.
