In my view, development of cities are important along with the development of the villages. As the city gets smarter the ecological problems also increase. We first need to focus on the basic needs required by the people of this nation. Health, education, civic amenities, well-connected roads, drinking water facility etc are the basic needs we need in cities, villages.
Along with smart cities, there should be a smart village, which should lead toward a better production of agriculture.
Yes, I believe smart cities might increase the economy of the country if it is well planned.
But if we come across present situation even the metropolitan cities face a major problem when it rains there. That is a major area of the problem.
So, the government should make the cities smarter in a well-planned manner and should maintain the ecological balance.

I'm Manoj kr. And I'd like the initiative to start the group discussion.
First, I'd like to start by telling everyone what does a smart city mean well smart cities are basically a modern form of the existing cities with better waste management system better roads with a clean environment and which also includes using solar panels and other forms of sustainable energy. So the question is do we need smart cities or not and the answer is yes because in a developing country like India smart cities would act as a boosting centres and trade centre to increase the development of the country as a whole there are plenty of villages that are directly dependent on cities for their day to day activities so making cities smart would help developing those villages so for the overall development of the country I think developing smart cities ia not a bad idea at all.

Yes, we need the smart city but before of this step, we should focus on our villages because our economy is an agriculture-based. If we get success in the villages so I am sure we get the dreams that our father of the nation is a vision for the future.

Hi everyone.
Ofcourse smart cities are needed but before that government should develope the developing areas into developed areas why because to build smart cities nation should need a huge investment with that we can develope rural areas like agriculture, handlooms etc and then smart cities is needed by that both urban and rural people can easily survive under smart and modern conditions in the society according my conclusion smart cities are needed but after fulfilling the major requirements.
Thank you.

Yes, really we need to work on our economics first instead of focusing on smart cities. Poor people are pooping and peeing on the road, we should change this first.

Yes, of course, we must need to get smart cities because our India is a developing country so that we should make a smart cities overall India if we want to our country as developed one everything is in our hands only we should make some good leaders to make our country to develop as well we should focus the villages too which has been a backbone of our country so we should not be left it and we ensure that to support villages and city.

I would like to point on one of the most important problems we are facing is the sanitation and the waste disposal system prevailing in our country. The one basic thing that differentiates us from the countries abroad is the sanitation in our society, we can easily see the garbage dumped unto the streets, people pooping and peeing across the streets is a common sight for all of us. We talk about swatch Bharat in a very enticing way but in real contribute very less to achieve that.

I introduce myself as Projjal Gop,
In my view, when we talk of an age that relies more on digitalization I believe the smart city is an immediate measure. We can all talk of manual effort but imagine a day without any computers and see the catastrophe. Smart city measure is a step taken by the government to provide better infrastructure and sanitation aids to the residents and the aim is to expand its territory over the years.
It is true that our country lacks infrastructure and the long-term planning because of which we fail in the long turn to achieve any realistic vision, but here one has to understand that in the run of votes many regions and states basically run behind the age.
When talking about the villages I would like to point out that a village's transformation depends on a neighbouring city's prosperity. Has anyone ever heard that because of villages cities run well? Villages are the hub of agrarian production whereas cities are the hub of trade business and in this setup cities gain the most as India's agrarian economy is nation based and not region based. Efforts are being taken by the govt to develop our agriculture but the recent losses triggered due to floods and heavy rain alarm that proper structural framework is required and that it has to start from cities which would generate revenues for the project. I would like to state that India today no longer depends on its agriculture resource as its lifeline, IT sector has taken it all. India now is a sleeping giant yet to dominate the world's silicon valley. So we do need digitalisation in form of smart cities which would generate more revenues to evolve our villages.

According to my opinion, yes need smart cities in my country lot of opportunity for youngest guys get jobs and also more entertainment facilities are available in the cities. And followed the rule of cities for example if you are travelling on the road you must follow the rule of the traffic signal. And get the facility of electricity 24 hours and need LAN free WiFi in anywhere of cities. If these facilities are available in the cities every process done 8n the short time period and save the time for next work, and therefore lot of work in the life.

First people should know what smart cities are?
It doesn't need model buildings, High towers.
Years of time to plan by international architect's, waste of huge wealth, thousands of acres area and their own mark by individuals or religious.
Smart city means driving people through advancement in all sectors what they need.
Providing all facilities for the nation.
Not the only for particular places, Or for already developed cities.
Yes, we need smart cities, those as we are one NATION.
