Do we really need Smart Cities?

I would like to add few more points to your list.

Does India Need more smart cities or More smart peoples? We need to think about it.

No Country has been ever developed by smart cities scheme like our Indian concept.

If The smart peoples exist in the country then surely it will have not only smart cities villages as well.

For that, what action needs to be taken from Govt of India.

Instead of investing much more money in creating smart cities, should invest in free education, Free Medical facilities, Free water and flawless electricity across the Country.

Once the Govt has taken care of these things for underprivileged regions then people will have the smart cities in his own mind itself then they turn all villages and cities into Smart cities.

And also I request in educated peoples in India, Only Govt cannot do all these things we have to joins our hands towards country progress with it.

Change the mind between major dispute, fight for natural resources and has to create the awareness as we are united and one family to live peacefully across the nation.

Yes, I agree with all that smart cities needed in India to show our rich culture to giving the message to the whole world that we are chasing all country to become number one.

Our GDP now it is 2.7 Trillion and the current growth rating is 6.7% soon we will turn from developing county to developed country.

I Hope our beloved and Honorable PM Narendra Modi doing the Best job to create this awareness all over the planet we always thank him and his team.

We need smart city because our country is a developing country and we have to do a developed country and not only develop city's as a smart cities develop villages also because in villages there is no proper electricity, education, water, communication 1st of all improve rural areas afterwards automatically we get smarter cities and in our country there is a black money when that black money came out then our country will be a developed country.

Yes we need, as technology is increasing day by day our living hood is gradually increasing.

According to me smart city is best idea and it is a needy thing, but the government must make a suitable plan which must benefit a rural areas and urban cities.

We have been provide topic to really need smart city, let me tel you yes we need smart cities because of the India is developing country and the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam vision is 20-20. Its very useful for that vision. First of all, we need to rural area become smarter. In rural area has no idea about smart cities. Smart city means not only city becomes smart our country want to be become developed country then we need to developed our rural area. One most important thing is remove the corruption from our country because of corruption, it can't possible.

I don't know what is mean by the smart city.

All thing is about people can live peacefully, no problem should arise while communicating to other parties even any matter.
If there is a people and live peacefully without done any Froude, any interrupting third party, any issue it means the area, the village, the city is a Smart.
No need to compare any other town or place.
We should try and voice up against any problematic entities.
No, we don't need a smart city. But, Yes we should make a smart city.
All people should have aware of very small little things what it makes life easy.

Hello everyone..
In our country where people could survive their lives in slum area too due to whatever their personal reasons, government should initiate some activities before making smart cities.
Otherwise, we may lead to see slum areas at the edges of SMART CITIES too.

Also, fares of municipal services may increase and that would hit the pocket of common people only.

At last, making smart city requires ample amount of fund so outcome should be proportional to it.

Of course, we need smart cities and as everyone already said development of the rural area is a major priority in order to make country smart.

I think education has always been a issue which is barrier for success. In rural area people doesn't have basic knowledge of what actually is happening.

For instance, movie "NEWTON" shows poor situation of election in our country. It reveals how people were being manipulated and they were giving votes without even knowing who was going to win.

Just want to say smart cities are required but this cannot be accomplished if people are not educated in their field.

I agree with some opinions. Yes, a smart city needs but in our India, some villages are not developed in that people are not able to receive some basic needs like roads, water, education, first of all, our government provide to services them and next to develop smart cities.

According to me, a smart city is essential but it is a task of years not one or two days. Before to develop our cities there is need to develop our villages. Provide basic facilities such as school, hospital as well as jobs so that villagers do not move or migrate towards cities in search of jobs, which ultimately raise the population of the cities. And provide basic.

Facility i.e. bread and butter to those children who are begging on roads. If we remove these problems then it leads to be a smart city as well as smart villagers.
