Instead of investing money to form smart cities, we should rather need to develop villages and provide basic requirements for a healthy living for the people living in those villages. Developing smart cities will abridge the gap between the holistic development of India as a nation. We have to understand that our farmers from whom we get to satisfy our stomach are mostly the residents of the village and thus their development will lead to the development of village as a whole. So, we should find out ways to develop villages to form Cities rather than forming cities into smart cities.

No, I don't think so. The reason being today there are smart cities in India but then also there are areas in those`cities which are still backwards. So sometimes I really feel that by giving the tag of the smart city to any city is that city really progressing? Are the people really keeping up with the progressive mentality? So unless and until we try to reach to all the people and change their thinking or do something that will affect the populations mindset, giving the tag of smart city isnt going to help because I have seen smart cities affected heavily with floods, poverty etc.

SMART CITY is a really good initiatives taken by the government of India. They have shortlisted some cities and will work enough to provide easy access to everything which are generating electricity, generating water supply, good housing facility, efficient transportation.
But to do this work it will have to pass through many loopholes one of them is corruption and lack of resources. It further can lead to a vast difference between rich and poor where working class may find it difficult to reside there.
Idea is good but sufficient effort should be made to execute it successfully.

I don't know what is mean by the smart city.
All thing is about people can live peacefully, no problem should arise while communicating to other parties even any matter.
If there is a people and live peacefully without done any Froude, any interrupting third party, any issue it means the area, the village, the city is a Smart.
No need to compare any other town or place.
We should try and voice up against any problematic entities.
No, we don't need a smart city. But, Yes we should make a smart city.
All people should have aware of very small little things what it makes life easy.

Yes, we definitely need of smart cities. But to make our cities smart we have to develop our villages smart. There are no facilities in the village still people in rural areas are faces a lot of problems than whether it is a hospital facility or farming, electricity. And to make our cities smart then there should be sustainable development first. One of the economists also said that India is a developed country still it is a developing country.
So, if you want to make our cities smart first we have to make our village smart then automatically our cities & country will get smart.

Yes, we need smart cities.
But, not that smart cities which acquire the land develop the buildings, hospital, private school etc. This kind of smart will attract the urban people, other city people who will leave their city but not for rural people because they can, t afford that money.
But we need smart cities in rural areas with basic needs like water, electricity, food, proper drainage, roads, govt school infrastructure etc.
Every city of providing basic needs especially for farmers provide water, road, shelter, electricity. Etc that kind of smart city we need to develop.

According to me, Smart city doesn't mean that big flyover long roads, new transportation services it means that how clean your city is. If the government made big flyovers or road in our city but on that the people of city throw their wastage like polythene, plastics or some other type of garbage then what is the benefit so for the smart city firstly clean city is mandatory and for clean city education is important. People have to be aware of the clean city and we have to plant more and more trees. Because the clean city and green city together makes a smart city. Thank you.

It is always said that if you have to reach the top you have to start from beginning. Same is applicable for smart cities.
In order to achieve the dream of smart cities we have to star from beginning.
In India there are still many villages which can not get light, water. There are many places which are still lacking of roads transports etc.
So firstly, our government has to solve this type of problem so they that at least every village and cities have at least these basic facilities.
Once they all came under same platform then obviously we can area about a smart cities.

Yes, smart city is the symbol of the developing country though India doesn't require a smart city, because more than a smart city we need smart villages, how the smart city now is a like cage with all the facilities but no freedom, the people in remote villages still not having proper electricity, roadways, smartphones, so our major focus is to bring those villages to light, if all such villages provided with smart facilities, our country surely becomes the smarter country, the problem with the smart city is that everything will be technological, but there is no humanity.

Yes, we need smart cities in our country. A city is said to be smart when it creates sustainable economic development and provides a high quality of life by excelling in areas like economy, mobility, environment. Smart cities will improve GDP (Gross domestic product) of the country. GDP is the total value of everything produced by all the people & companies in the country. In August 2015, our government has started the project to develop 100 smart cities across the country. For a developing country, smart cities are very much needed to improve the lifestyle of people.
