I'm sharing my thoughts about do we really need smart cities?

In my opinion, smart cities must be beneficial to our nation, Today's plan for smart cities little bit harmful to the environment.

For our selfishness we drop the trees they may die due to us, This will lead to a disaster in future so I disapprove of this, smart cities were benifit from one point of view to the another side it will harm to our society and our health.

Thank you.

Yes, it will be the big step of government for making smart but we also have to think about the people who live in small areas who belong to rural areas we should give them proper education and we have to encourage them for increasing growth of India I think without this we don't think also that India will become smart. Smart cities it's not mean that you know making big buildings attracted big MNC in India it's mean to educate people beacuse we know in India 70% of people who depends in agriculture and its source money so how will say that making smart cities creat people smart we have to look it both side, first of all, provide better skill, give them proper education, we have to train them, govt should have to make group of people who have to visit rural areas give them knowledge about policies of govt so in India there is lot of things to do beacuse the former is a back bone of India.

Yes, definitely India need smart cities in current word. If India wants to be one of the supreme powerful countries in the field of economy, defence, telecom, space etc it's cities must be developed. Because in such cities all needful things such as education, health facilities are always easily available to their citizen. If people become smart they start contributing in developing smart cities then India came out from the list of developing countries and go together with developed countries.

Thank you.

I don't think we need smart cities, we actually need ethically and morally based cities where people not only enhance tech. But encourage family and society. We must not become only example of technologically, structurally or economically advance but above that we must be known as an example of humanity, prosperity and unity. I don't want a digitized place to live I need a place where people are friendly, those who are assigned to work must do there work with dedication and sincerity like in markets, post offices, police station, railway station, hospitals etc.

I understand that being the youth of this generation most of us want a smart cities so that people who think of settling abroad can change their mind and can take the benefits of being raised in smart cities which is a good thought but on the other hand to build a smart city we all need to bring education to the 1st place as we all know most of the Indians are still uneducated and they don't even know what smart means. And trust me most of us also feels that living a lavish life and carrying a smart phone is the step for living in the smart city but the fact is un till and unless people will not get correct education India will never have smart cities.

We don't need 'smart cities' but every corner of India to be smart.

Meaning of a smart city: making a city self-sufficient, providing world-class cities- having a good education system, good sanitation, environmentally sustainable, best infrastructure.

But my question is why few cities? Won't it lead to discrimination between different cities? If we are going to make certain cities smart. People from other cities will be attracted to these and leave their hometowns which lack behind in providing them facilities for their overall development. It will again repeat the scenario of urbanization-and create the problem of overcrowding.

WHY LEAVE BEHIND OTHER CITIES? If we pay tax in an equal amount as the people living in smart cities, don\'t we have the equal right of development? Why the people of rural areas, 'unsmart cities' shouldn't have equal access to the best infrastructure, environmentally sustainable towns where they live? Why do they have to move out of their homes to go to a smart city? Why shouldn't they have unpolluted homes?

Even sociologically, this is discrimination: if some cities will be smart where people will have world-class infrastructure, everything is connected to the network, there origins a mental approach that the people who live in normal cities- are backward, because they have not experienced what the people of smart cities were made entitled to. This furthers the problem of urban and rural lifestyle.

No nation can survive without agriculture which exists in rural areas. Then if a farmer who is responsible for providing food to the country doesn't have access to the same facilities which the people of smart cities have, isn't it discrimination? Why does he have to send his children to smart cities? Why can't his child grow in the same rural area and have access to the smart facilities?

If I live in a small town of Rajasthan but still pay an equal amount of tax as any other person living in Shillong/Dharamshala, why don\'t I have the right to have equal facilities as the people living there?

The govt is responsible for promoting equality in services and opportunities to me also.

The real answer to our problems is that govt and citizens should work cooperatively and there should be an overall development of the nation and not few cities. And if the argument is that we have to start from somewhere, I will still emphasize that this is not a good policy decision to move ahead by starting with few cities. The approach towards development should not coincide with urbanization. India does not need to follow a western model to develop. We can have our own indigenous model of governance and development. India being an agrarian country should try to work its way towards sustainable development by investing heavily in rural areas and make them smart. If we try to take a step back and go by a bottom-top approach, we can show the world that India is a 'smart country' who makes its own way.

Hi every one,

Yes, we need smart cities.

First of all, what is a smart city?

There is no universal definition of a smart city but will have below.

A smart city is a city having good core infrastructure and clean environment.

Core infrastructure having below things.

1) water management: clean water supply for all people. And identification of leakages.
2) energy management: reproducing power.
3) waste management: we should have waste management technics.
4) mobility management: we need smart parking and intelligent tragic management.

The above is necessary for every citizen so for improving we must need smart cities.

In addition to the above skill development centeres, wifi enables cities and good public transport will play the main role for smart cities.
