Can we dream of hosting the Olympics?

Yes, the country with 2.5 trillion dollar economy can dream of hosting the Olympics. But a lot of efforts to put on and meticulous work has to be done to complete it successfully. You know hosting Olympics can give you a good name among the other countries. In the same way, it is more challenging. For a developing country like India hosting Olympics can favour but at the same time it might loosen our stable economy since hosting requires a large amount of money which we may afford but it is not necessary for us at present. Also, internal affairs do matter a lot, for instance, we saw unhealthy internal affairs troubles athletes in Rio Olympics and it defames their country.

Now, India is not prepared for hosting this mega event "Olympics" because of lack of infrastructure problem, corruption problem, little support and knowledge towards other games like football, hockey, badminton, boxing etc. First, we have to develop a country in which every game get equal interest by every people of India. This is not only the responsibility of government but also all the population of India. Besides this corruption and lack of infrastructure is that problem in which currently is in progress. If we do continuously work towards these areas then after 5 years I think that there will be a proud moment of our country to hosting this mega event "Olympics".

Olympics is just the international collection of games and India is proving themselves to the world and why can't we host the OLYMPICS when we did host commonwealth in 2010 with a massive success, each and everybody appreciaated that, India is having a core of very talented players who have proved themselves on the international arena, if we talk about the security here, then I want to ask is there any one single place around the world which is completely SAFE, there will be no such place, if we keep on thinking like this then nothing will happen. India is very SAFE.

Pollution level will come down after the govt actions and India is completely ready for Olympics.

Yes, Hosting the Olympics in India has been obtained but its not suddenly moreover only developed country has attained this kind of mega event based on his economic growth. In India related to sports having infrastructure, training is to be given but its not be an Olympic level. Government and private sector has provided budget for few sports. In my opinion first government want to implement some schemes for poverty eradication and then we come over with olympics. Based on corruption in sports so many talented athletics person has been affected. Hosting the Olympics we want to free from corruption, terror safe, poverty eradication and economically well growth.

I think this is not the right time of hosting Olympics in India. Yeah, it would be honored to host Olympics but still India is not in position to host Olympics. Because we do not have infrastructure for this and economically also we can not bear cost of it.

I'm not saying that India can not host Olympics in future, yes we can but it is not the right time.

I think India should try to win more medals in Olympic games instead of hosting the Olympics. In our country we are facing scams, corruption, poverty and unemployment, we need to solve these problems, then we can imagine that we can host Olympics because these things are obstacle in hosting the Olympics.

Why not ? India has always aimed for development and optimism is necessary to achieve it. Olympics can be very well organised in India and this would lead to many advantages for India.

But,

India should opt for organizing Olympics maybe in 2028. It is so because the present needs of India is education and not recognition. Indians should be educated about cleanliness, tourism, etc, then only they will be able to respect foreign visitors and foreign players. Also better infrastructure and security system should be developed for success of the event which will take time.

I think India can dream of hosting Olympics.

India is the third largest economy in the world. We had successfully managed Commonwealth Games, 2010. Now we will host under 17 World Football cup, 2017.

Our economy is strong, we are one who least affected by a recess in previous years.

Cities are bidden for hosting Olympics. To develop infrastructure IOC give 7-9 year which is enough period. It was a very difficult task because almost 44 sports was included in Olympics and around 200 or more nation participating. Hence, the strong and dedicated member required in Indian Olympic committee.

It will help to boost sports culture in India.

Why can't when we have dreamt about supercomputers, satellites and succeeded the citizens of other nations not even believed their own eyes and minds. India has such power, zeal in their minds and hearts. So Olympics is not a great achievement when compared to these, only thing is we and our so-called govt should be transparent in all way. We have seen the scams during Commonwealth in Delhi that should not happen. We need a very big area or platform to conduct games. People have to support and appreciate the ideas for well being of the nation. Hosting the Olympics will be the dream of every nation if we get a chance we have to carry out successfully.

To host an Olympic game is a matter of pride for every country and its citizens. But this requires a huge investment. India is a developing nation. Most of the works like development in infrastructure, technologies, etc are in budding stage and still huge investment is necessary in these fields. At this particular time, if India tries to host any Olympic games, it would be like cutting its own tree of development. At this point of time, India should focus on itself and its citizens' prosperity in terms of business, finance, employability, health, education, etc etc. Once it's poverty is gone then we are ready for hosting any events on our soil.

In my opinion India has a very good chance of hosting Olympics in the coming three decades. India is already eyeing the 2036 and above slots. It is good for the youth of the country. Hosting an Olympics will surely increase the entries of the future generations into sports. It will improve the performance of country in the future events. It generates revenue and creates new sources of employment for our citizens.

The drawbacks are, The cost of hosting Olympics is increasing disproportionately with revenue it generates. Last few Olympics ended in losses. It will be a financial burden for the country but the losses won't impact our economy much.
