Actually NO, it depends on availability and capital, a villager who is buying vegetable which is fresh in low price but, if a guy buying veggies from another area though he has money he not getting that fresh vegetable.

Another issue is money, almost all class of people when they buy something it doesn't mean poor buys something blindly something, quality matters for them too, they buy also by checking the things in their budget.

Hi, friends.

In my opinion, Indians are never less quality conscious. Everything depends on income. In India there are three types of family one is upper, second is middle and third is lower. According to their status, they try to buy best and branded quality. Everybody wants cheap and best but the quality is mandatory.

Yes, Indians are less quality conscious but that is only because of the social condition of India.

What is Quality?

- It is the degree of excellence of a product (usually finish product) or a service being bought or availed by a person. This feeds of excellence can be multidimensional as the service of the provider of the product, user-friendly designing & after sale service.

- It is a level of excellence which is assumed by a customer against the paid extra high prices. Eg: A phone of Apple is compared to a Micromax phone.

Why India is less quality Conscious?

- India is a developing Country & for every developing economy it is of prime importance to full fill the need rather than trailing the quality standards. As in India, we expect a product to be low cost so that everyone can purchase it.

- A quality product is less costly than other products of the same range.

India is a country which is right on its steps to become a developed country i.e. it is still developing which means that every Indian isn't capable of making money with which he can buy high standard goods for him and his family. And obviously quality requires more money spent by investors and more money given by consumers. Therefore, at this stage, India isn't focus on quality.

There is no matter like it is a quality material and that's not. Every company will produce their goods or materials to better quality only for the better future of their company. But we categorized it in our way.

But as an Indian should be a less quality conscious because we are still developing. Not developed. All are not rich fellows. 75% of Indians are from poor background. So these all people will prefer for quality but in a less price and they will get it. Only rich fellows prefer for quality in high price. But totally quality should be must in lesser price or in higher price for Indians.

Hey, everyone.

I clearly disagree with the fact that Indians are less quality conscious. I mean just look at our mothers before buying a bunch of vegetables they check the quality.

Quality is the standard of products as measured against prices. Quality awareness on an individual basis depends on upon the individual awareness of the environment and the meaning of the quality. Companies regularly do the quality awareness test for their product to make improvisation and remove waste from their products to provide the user-friendly and safe product to their customer.

India being one of the poor countries in the world and Most of the Indian peoples are middle class whose income are not so good, they somehow manage to feed their family members and provide shelters that's why they don't focus much on the quality of the product. And the lower class people never dream of quality product.

India is a developing country and the peoples of India are presently not so aware of the environment and the meaning of the quality. But the Young generations of India are aware of the meaning of quality and they are more focussed on the quality of the product.

Indian market is flooded with the cheap Chinese product Lower class people of India focus on the price rather than the quality of the product. So, Lower class people of India are the best consumer of the Chinese product as they are very low in price.

I think This is a totally wrong perception that Indians are less quality conscious. Every single Indian prefer the best quality product, but in there buying capacity. India is still a developing country and more than 80 percent of the population belong to poor families. They can spend less for their need but it does not mean that less spending means less conscious about quality.

I would like to add to the discussion that in past we were less quality conscious but at present, there is positive growth in the lifestyle of the population, people are becoming aware of the fact that better the quality greater will be the satisfaction they will get.

Still, most of the population resides in the rural part of the country and many of them are financially weak to acquire products of good quality.

So the more the income people will get there will change in taste and preferences and hence it will lead to becoming more quality conscious.

We have taken initial steps to increase per person income but still there is a lot to be achieved.

Hello friends,

"Indians are less quality conscious", in my view it depends on person to person. Some people wants high quality and some are satisfied in his\her life. Youngsters want branded materials, like shoes of Puma, watch of Titan and mobile of apple and the need is day by day increasing. Presently he or she want apple iPhone 7s and in future, he or she wants 8s (-:,

So it all depends on person need and definitely on his or her income and it is applied not only to Indians but all over worldwide. If the person have money and he or she wants quality then easily he or she purchases branded material. Quality that means not only big brands, my previous friend said that my mother also checks quality of vegetables and then buy it, :-). So Indians are never quality conscious.

Thank you.
