Yes, these kinds of shows proof how much we think bout our outer beauty. Not our inner selves. The questions asked are very limited. Would they take a girl willing to participate in an acid attack? So? They look like dumb models posing on stage with fake smiles. They are doing nothing for the country or for the world. It's a pathway to get into Cinemas or TV. And they tell onstage about society and true selves. The truth is they are filled with same lies. That's it! People only tell in words mother Teresa is great. They do nothing.

I respect the viewpoints shared by my Co-mates.
As the name suggests "Beauty contests". Beauty contests are not just a platform to showcase the beauty of the body. Indeed, it's a platform to display the beauty of one's soul and heart. A heart of selfless mind, a heart for the religion of humanity. If it is the real definition of beauty in my eyes. How can it degrade womanhood? where we see the beauty of a woman in every aspect: as a mother, as a daughter, as a wife, as a sister or as a friend. In the definition of god, women are the one of the most beautiful creation. It's the viewpoints and thoughts of the society which needs to change with respect to the beauty contests. Society should encourage women to be a part of it as its made with a whole and sole ideology to build confidence and to make them bold and beautiful. As we know that "with great powers come great responsibility ". So, it's a responsibility of the people working under the beauty contests not to misuse powers in their hands and not to ruin its integrity.
Thank you.

Well, I think these beauty contests have nothing to with womanhood because it is just a competition and one should be judged regardless his or her gender and its purely showing your talents and spontaneity as these contests are nowadays not limited to beauty but overall personality instead.

Beauty contest is not degrading womanhood, but there must be some rules like women should wear saree in place of short dresses because if someone is beautiful then she can look beautiful in both saree and short dress and saree is our traditional dress also. Other criterias of judging women should remain as it is in beauty contests.
It can be the perfect intermediate solution of people who consider beauty contests as degrading because it is the only reason why they dislike it. Any mother does not like that her daughter may wear short dress at adult age.
By doing so we can explode our culture as well and may teach our tradition to other countries not learn the western culture from others. We should learn technology skills from them not the manner of shorting dress because after all we are indians and we take our culture first then anything else.

I think not because, these beauty contests have also set some standards, to define "beauty" which actually can't be done, because real beauty comes from within, and you cannot define beauty by the way someone looks and dresses.

As the above ones are saying the beauty contest gives the name and fame to the women it will build confidence in women and the fact is that it is not only about the beauty in the beauty contrast they also check their confidence and presence of mind. And in countries like India it is the myth about women that they have to depend on the male subordinates and these contests are the counter for these myths.

My opinion regarding these topic is that it is not degrading for women to participate in beauty contest it is platform to prove herself with the help of these contest the no of women get the employment it is an 21st century of equality some people thought is that the women should work in home only, we should not decide the women on the basis of her beauty we should also check her brain, communication with other and behaviour of her.
Some people are thinks that the our culture is to wear saree not wear small dresses to expose our body but there are various games are there where girls are required to wear small dresses like swimming, tennis etc then weather we should banned those games no we shouldn't. Disadvantage is that some of women takes the beauty medicine or drug these should not happen.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to share my views as well.
Everything has there pros and cons, so I also think if beauty contest are degrading womanhood then obviously it is increasing her values as well. We should not think only negative things even we should encourage the positive things.
What are the things which is really good and we should encourage to woman to do that?
1. Beauty contest are providing jobs to woman, it is providing a platform to woman to make her own identity. She has that talent and confidence by which she can win the world.
2. Beauty contest are not depend only on beauty, they have certain criteria's to take the participate in beauty contest and win the competition. So obviously if she is talented only then she can take the participation in competition.
3. Beauty contest is the platform where people start to knowing about the favorite models, like:- what she likes to wear?, How she behaves with others?, What she has done so she is there? How she think? etc. So, through this thing we can explore good things like:- We can explore our culture, we can explore good habits in followers.
4. If one woman takes a good step then other world wide woman get inspired with her. And inspiration is really needful for our country development.
Yes, we should avoid few things as well:-.
1). We should not make this platform to show of body instead of this we should promote our culture.
2). Should not take it as jealousy and all, if someone is having good talent she will be famous, so we should learn from them.
3). Do not consider this thing as everything its a part of life, so should not take the beauty medicine and all.
Thank you to read this.

"Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". In this competitive world, beauty has been portrayed as an asset which brings a plus point to the economy and has indeed helps in the emancipation of women. However, the fact cannot be ignored that in almost all beauty contests women are treated as sale able product.
