1 CO molecule contains 1 O-atom.

1 mole CO equivalent to 6.02x10^23 molecules of CO contain 6.02x10^23 atoms of Oxygen. So 6.02x10^24 CO molecules contain 6.02x10^24 atoms of O which is equivalent to 10 gm-atoms of oxygen.

Since Oxygen is diatomic, 10 g-atom = 1/2x10 g-molecule of Oxygen = 5 gram-molecule of O2 = 5 grams of O2 molecule.

Note: 6.02x10^23 atoms = 1 gm-atom.

5 gram is correct because number of gram-molecules means number of moles of O2 molecules. Now 6.02 x 10^24 CO molecules = 10 moles of CO (divided by 6.02 x 10^23) 1 mole of CO has 16 g or 0.5 mole of O2.

Therefore 10 moles of CO will give 10 x 0.5 = 5 moles or gram-molecules of O2 (oxygen).

Actually, my dear friends thank you very much for giving such wonderful answers.

But I have a doubt on a mole, 1mole = 6.023*10^23 molecules, then 2moles means double the 1 mole i.e.12.046 * 10^46 molecules, then for 10 moles = 60.23 * 10^230.

I am getting this one, how did you get 6.023 * 10^24?
