1000 = 1*10^3.
5000 = 5*10^3.
65000 = 65*10^3.
= 6.5*10^(3+1).
= 6.5*10^4.
5000 = 5*10^3.

If you normally see,
10*3=3000 (10*10*10) and,
10^3 it is calculation same now,
We see 10*10*10*65=65000 ok.
