The average amount of interest the company had to pay during this period = (23.4 + 32.5 + 41.6 + 36.4 + 49.4)/5.
= 96.66 lakhs.

Come on guys..... It's just a problem of finding average...... What's the need for more short cut?...... Any way sagar's answer is more than enough.... Multiplying nr and dr makes it more easy to calculate with eyes.
