Romania and India signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on July 24, 2026, during President Droupadi Murmu's official state visit to Bucharest. The agreements cover cooperation in agriculture and food processing, renewable energy and clean technology, and cultural exchange and higher education mobility for the period 2026–2030. Both countries also set a target to increase bilateral trade to over $3 billion within the next three years. The visit marked the first by an Indian Head of State to Romania in nearly two decades, highlighting the growing strategic partnership and expanding collaboration in trade, sustainability, education, and cultural relations between the two nations.
