The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved two new Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) in Tamil Nadu with a total investment of ₹1,012 crore. The Manallur Cluster will be developed over 474.3 acres with a project cost of ₹587.47 crore, while the Pillapaikkam Cluster will cover 379.3 acres with an investment of ₹424.55 crore. The initiative supports the Semicon India Programme and strengthens India's electronics manufacturing ecosystem. It is expected to boost semiconductor and electronics production, attract investments, generate employment, and enhance India's position as a global manufacturing hub. The approval also complements talent development and AI initiatives being implemented across the country.

Chhattisgarh approved a 10% reservation for ex-Agniveers in direct recruitment to Class-III (Group C) state government posts. The reservation applies to positions such as Police Constables, Forest Guards, and Praheri (Guards) in the Jail Department. The decision was approved by the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai through the Chhattisgarh Civil Services Reservation Rules, 2026. The benefit is available only to Agniveers who have completed four years of service in the Indian Armed Forces and hold a valid discharge certificate. The policy also complements the state's Industrial Development Policy 2024, which offers additional benefits to Agniveers, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes.

Panama and India held bilateral talks on July 22, 2026, to strengthen cooperation in maritime security, logistics, maritime education, and digital transformation. The discussions included collaboration between India's Directorate General of Shipping and the Panama Maritime Authority, along with initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI), smart port logistics, maritime single-window systems, and resilient supply chains. China successfully launched the Gravity-1 commercial rocket from a vessel in the East China Sea on July 22, 2026, placing nine satellites into their designated orbit. Developed by the private aerospace company ORIENSPACE, the mission marked the world's first far-sea launch of a privately developed commercial rocket. The launch demonstrated the capability to conduct rocket missions under complex offshore conditions. Gravity-1 is the world's first medium-lift launch vehicle using all-solid-propellant strap-on boosters and can carry payloads to both Low-Earth Orbit and Sun-Synchronous Orbit. The satellites will support remote sensing, land mapping, AI-powered Earth observation, disaster response, and advanced satellite technology testing.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signed a long-term contract with Safran Aircraft Engines in July 2026 to manufacture and supply critical turbine ring forgings made from superalloys for the CFM LEAP engine programme. The components will be produced at HAL's Foundry and Forge Division in Bengaluru using advanced near-net shape ring forging technology for high-temperature engine applications. The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom. This partnership strengthens HAL's role in the global aerospace supply chain, expands its presence in the international civil aviation market, and supports the production of one of the world's most widely used commercial aircraft engines.

IIT Madras is hosting the 3rd Digital India RISC-V (DIR-V) Symposium in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and RISC-V International. Gujarat launched the Samras Vidya Setu mega campaign in July 2026 to bring more than 80,000 school dropout children back into the formal education system. The initiative aims to enrol children from Standards 1 to 12 in age-appropriate classes through bridge courses, remedial coaching, and residential schools for students with learning gaps. Andhra Pradesh is launching the ‘Mee Bhoomi–Blockchain’ pilot project across seven mandals to modernise land records using blockchain technology. The project integrates data from the revenue, survey, and registration departments into a single secure platform. Built using Hyperledger Fabric by NIC Andhra Pradesh and the Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology at NIC Bengaluru, it assigns a unique blockchain identity to each land parcel. The system supports citizen services such as auto-mutation, subdivision, and extent correction while automatically stopping transactions when data mismatches are detected. Every transaction is permanently recorded with the responsible official’s identity and timestamp, ensuring transparency, security, and protection against record tampering.

Romania and India signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on July 24, 2026, during President Droupadi Murmu's official state visit to Bucharest. The agreements cover cooperation in agriculture and food processing, renewable energy and clean technology, and cultural exchange and higher education mobility for the period 2026–2030. Both countries also set a target to increase bilateral trade to over $3 billion within the next three years.
