The third edition of the INDUS-X Summit took place in California on September 9-10, 2024. This summit focused on advancing the joint defence innovation ecosystem between India and the USA and was co-organised by the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and Stanford University. The event featured significant outcomes such as the signing of an MoU between India’s iDEX and the US Department of Defense’s DIU, aimed at enhancing defence collaboration. California was chosen as the venue to host this important dialogue and showcase innovations in the defence sector.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently granted approval for its first Mpox vaccine specifically for use in Africa. This vaccine, developed by Bavarian Nordic A/S, represents a significant advancement in addressing Mpox, particularly in the African region. The approval allows for the vaccine's pre-qualification for purchase by international donors such as GAVI and UNICEF. Despite its limited supply due to a single manufacturer, this development is a critical step in controlling outbreaks and improving public health in Africa.

The BRICS Literature Forum 2024 was held in Kazan, Russia, on September 11, 2024. The event brought together writers, poets, philosophers, artists, and scholars from BRICS countries to discuss the theme "World Literature in the New Reality: Dialogue of Traditions, National Values, and Cultures." India was represented by Madhav Kaushik and Dr. K. Sreenivasarao of Sahitya Akademi, who participated in various sessions, including the plenary session and "Meet the Authors from India." The forum aimed to promote unity and cooperation through literature.

Bahrain secured $16.65M in investments from three Indian firms during visits to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The investments include Chemco's third expansion in Bahrain to enhance rigid packaging production with fully automated lines at Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP). Additionally, Bhageria is planning an 11.40 MW solar project, and an ICT firm will establish its regional headquarters in Bahrain, strengthening the country's technology sector. These developments highlight Bahrain's growing appeal as a hub for diverse industries and investments from India.

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has entered into a landmark agreement with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to enhance cooperation in the nuclear sector. This agreement aims to foster collaboration in key areas such as supply chain management, human resource development, nuclear consultancy, and future investments. The signing of this agreement marks a significant milestone in the nuclear cooperation between the UAE and India, opening up new avenues for mutual growth and development.
