Four states Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra—signed the Narmada Project Payment Pact to settle long-pending financial issues related to the implementation of the Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal (NWDT) Award. The agreement covers cost-sharing for the Sardar Sarovar and Indira Sagar projects, including rehabilitation expenses, compensation for submerged land, construction costs, interest on borrowings, and settlement of outstanding dues. The pact represents an important step toward cooperative federalism, improved inter-state coordination, and efficient management of the Narmada River basin and its major water resource projects.

India and Indonesia strengthened their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by signing 14 agreements covering defence, maritime security, trade, digital payments, education, space, critical minerals, and other strategic sectors. As part of the defence cooperation, Indonesia decided to procure India's BrahMos supersonic cruise missile systems and Astra Beyond-Visual-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (BVRAAMs). These agreements were announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jakarta in July 2026. The partnership also reinforces cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, promotes regional stability, and expands India's growing defence exports and strategic engagement with Southeast Asia.

TribeX is India's first dedicated digital learning platform focused on preserving, documenting, and promoting tribal arts, culture, languages, and traditional knowledge. Launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the platform integrates online learning, digital documentation, research support, and skill development. It offers free certificate courses on tribal heritage and UGC-recognised postgraduate diploma programmes in collaboration with academic institutions. TribeX aims to preserve indigenous knowledge, promote tribal traditions globally, support researchers and learners, and create employment-oriented educational opportunities while making authentic tribal knowledge accessible to people across India and the world.

Adani Defence and Aerospace is establishing South Asia’s largest private sector integrated missile manufacturing facility in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of ₹2,500 crore. The plant will manufacture precision-guided munitions, ammunition, and mission-ready missiles while integrating advanced materials and production systems at a single location. Equipped with automated manufacturing technology and globally benchmarked safety standards, the facility is expected to strengthen India's indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. The project will also boost employment, enhance the regional industrial ecosystem, and support the country's goal of achieving greater self-reliance in the defence sector.

South Korea is set to launch its fourth next-generation medium-sized Earth observation satellite aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA. The approximately 500-kg satellite is equipped with indigenous high-resolution observation cameras and will orbit at an altitude of 888 km. It is designed to capture images of the entire Korean Peninsula every three days. After four months of in-orbit testing, the satellite is expected to become fully operational in the first half of 2027, supporting agriculture, forest management, disaster response, climate change analysis, and public safety.

Andhra Pradesh introduced a millet-based chikki under the Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal Scheme to enhance the nutritional intake of students in government schools. The snack is prepared using peanuts, jaggery, and nutritious millets such as ragi, jowar, and bajra. It is distributed three times a week and is monitored through barcode-based tracking to ensure transparency and quality. The initiative aims to improve the intake of calcium, iron, protein, and dietary fibre among children while promoting the consumption of millets, which are nutrient-rich, environmentally sustainable, and widely encouraged across India.

Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State, is leading the Indian delegation at the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance held in Geneva, Switzerland. The dialogue is the first session of a universal, multi-stakeholder forum established under the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 79/325. It focuses on key issues such as the social and economic impact of artificial intelligence, bridging AI divides, ensuring safe and trustworthy AI, protecting human rights, and supporting sustainable development. The event also includes the presentation of the first annual report by the Independent International Scientific Panel on AI (IISPA), highlighting AI capabilities and associated risks.

Glasgow, Scotland, will host the Commonwealth Games 2026 from 23 July to 2 August 2026. During the event, the Indian contingent will wear sustainable jute-viscose blended apparel developed by the National Jute Board under the Ministry of Textiles. The biodegradable apparel highlights India's commitment to sustainable textiles, natural fibre innovation, and the Make in India initiative. This will also mark the first time a national contingent wears jute-based apparel at an international multi-sport event, promoting environmentally friendly manufacturing practices and showcasing Indian craftsmanship on a global stage.

The Natural History Museum of Mizoram University, located in Aizawl, was designated as India's 21st Designated Repository under Section 39 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. The recognition strengthens India's biodiversity conservation framework by enabling the museum to preserve authenticated biological specimens, including voucher and type specimens. Situated in the Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot, the museum plays a significant role in documenting rich flora and fauna, supporting scientific research, species identification, long-term preservation of biological resources, and collaboration with biodiversity institutions across the country.

Kamarajar Port became India's second major port to achieve an 18-metre operational draft after the successful completion of the ₹440 crore Capital Dredging Phase VI project. The upgraded infrastructure allows the port to handle fully laden Capesize vessels carrying up to 1,70,000 DWT, significantly improving cargo handling efficiency. The project included deepening approach channels, entrance channels, berths, and navigational areas, transforming the port into a Cape Compliant Port. This achievement is expected to reduce logistics costs, improve turnaround time, enhance India's global maritime competitiveness, and strengthen the country's export-import (EXIM) trade.
