Egypt is hosting the 4th edition of the joint military exercise Cyclone-IV, where the Indian Army Special Forces are participating alongside Egyptian Special Forces. The exercise is being conducted at Anshas from 09 to 17 April 2026 and focuses on enhancing operational coordination in desert and semi-desert environments. It aims to improve interoperability, joint mission planning, and tactical capabilities between the two nations. This bilateral exercise strengthens defence cooperation and strategic ties. Earlier editions were held alternately, with the previous one conducted in India, highlighting the growing military collaboration between both countries.

NITI Aayog released the second edition of the report focusing on women’s participation in India’s evolving credit market. The report highlights significant growth in credit access among women, with total outstanding credit rising to ₹76 lakh crore by 2025. It also emphasizes increased credit penetration, higher participation in commercial lending, and strong regional growth trends in states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Developed in collaboration with organisations such as TransUnion, CIBIL and MicroSave Consulting, the report reflects expanding financial inclusion and the growing role of women in India's formal credit ecosystem.

INS Sudarshini, a sail training ship of the Indian Navy, took part in the biennial ‘Escale à Sète’ maritime festival held in France. The event marked the 400th anniversary of the French Navy and is considered one of the largest maritime gatherings in the Mediterranean region. During the festival, the ship and its crew participated in various activities, including competitions and cultural exchanges. The Sudarshini rowing team even secured a bronze medal. The ship is also on the Lokayan 26 mission, which aims to strengthen international maritime cooperation and relations.

The International Conference on Spacecraft Mission Operations (SMOPS-2026) is being conducted in Bangalore from April 8 to 10, 2026. The conference focuses on innovative approaches to spacecraft mission management, including the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning for autonomous operations. It is jointly organised by ISRO, the Astronautical Society of India, and the International Academy of Astronautics. Gurugram secured the top position as the most polluted city in India for March 2026, according to the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA). It recorded a high monthly average PM2.5 level of 116 µg/m³, indicating hazardous air quality conditions. Maharashtra launched the ‘Majha Gaon, Arogyasampann Gaon’ initiative with a budget of ₹65.25 crore to improve rural healthcare delivery. The programme emphasises preventive healthcare, focusing on sanitation, clean drinking water, nutrition, and disease control, including mental health and lifestyle-related illnesses. It adopts a decentralised administrative structure with committees at state, district, and village levels to ensure effective implementation. Muse Spark is the latest artificial intelligence model launched by Meta as part of its new Superintelligence Labs initiative. Bank of Baroda introduced the ‘bob SAMVAD’ platform as an AI-driven solution to enhance customer interaction at its branches. The platform enables real-time communication in 22 languages using advanced features like voice-to-text and text-to-speech conversion. Initially deployed across 250 branches in multiple states, it aims to improve accessibility for customers with diverse linguistic backgrounds. Developed in-house, the system ensures low-latency responses for smooth communication. This initiative reflects the bank’s focus on digital innovation and customer-centric services, strengthening its position as a leading public sector bank in India.

Arunachal Pradesh is the location of the Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project, which has been approved with a significant investment of ₹14,105.83 crore. The project is situated in the Anjaw district on the Lohit River, a major tributary of the Brahmaputra. With a total installed capacity of 1200 MW, it is expected to generate substantial annual energy, contributing to the regional power supply. Implemented through a joint venture between THDC India Limited and the state government, the project also includes infrastructure development like roads and bridges, while providing economic benefits such as free power allocation to the state.

The UAE became the first country to launch a commercial Upper 6GHz (U6GHz) network, marking a major milestone in telecommunications innovation. Operated under the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the network uses the 6425–7125 MHz spectrum, often referred to as the “Golden Spectrum” due to its optimal balance of coverage and capacity. It delivers ultra-fast 5G-Advanced speeds, including up to 10Gbps downlink and 1Gbps uplink, enabling advanced digital services and AI-driven applications. Developed with global partners like Huawei and Nokia, the rollout highlights the UAE’s leadership in next-generation connectivity.
