The District Court Complex at Kargil was inaugurated to enhance judicial infrastructure in the remote and high-altitude region of Ladakh. Due to harsh climatic conditions, the inauguration was conducted virtually by the Chief Justice of India. Ladakh’s unique geographical challenges often make access to justice difficult for residents. The newly constructed complex, equipped with modern facilities and climate-resilient design, aims to address these issues. By bringing legal services closer to the people, especially in border districts like Kargil, it improves accessibility, reduces travel hardships, and strengthens the delivery of justice in the region.

Matt Brittin has been appointed as the new Director-General of the BBC, marking a significant leadership change in the organisation. A former Google executive, he brings extensive experience from his tenure at the tech giant, where he served as President of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
