New Delhi is the city where the ‘Rah-Veer’ scheme will be implemented to encourage citizens to assist seriously injured road accident victims. Under this initiative, individuals who ensure victims receive medical care within the crucial golden hour will be awarded ₹25,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. The scheme also provides legal protection under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, addressing fears of police questioning or legal hassles. By combining financial incentives and legal safeguards, the government aims to promote timely intervention, compassion, and reduce fatalities caused by road accidents.

Rajan Bajaj has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Slice Small Finance Bank following approval from the bank’s board, shareholders, and the Reserve Bank of India. He is the founder of Slice, which began as a fintech startup in 2016 and later merged with North East Small Finance Bank in 2024 to become a regulated small finance bank. Under his leadership, the bank aims to strengthen AI-driven digital banking services and promote financial inclusion, particularly for underserved and rural populations across India.

7.2% is the GDP growth rate projected by ICRA for India in the third quarter of FY26. This estimate reflects a moderation compared to the 8.2% growth recorded in the second quarter. The slowdown has been attributed to weaker performance in services and agriculture, even though the industrial sector showed improvement. Lucknow is the city where IBM’s AI GovTech Innovation Centre was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It focuses on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, deep tech, robotics, drone technology, medical technology, and quantum computing. Project Cheetah is the initiative under which India reintroduced cheetahs to restore the species after it was declared extinct in 1952. The programme involved the intercontinental translocation of 20 cheetahs from Namibia and South Africa during 2022–23, marking the world’s first such effort for a large carnivore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the first batch at Kuno National Park in September 2022. The recent birth of three cubs to the South African cheetah Gamini has raised India’s cheetah population to 38, reflecting steady progress in wildlife conservation and the long-term goal of establishing a sustainable population.

Greater Noida hosted the 8th edition of Advantage Healthcare India (AHCI) from 23–25 February 2026. The event was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and was inaugurated by Health Minister JP Nadda. Maharashtra is the state where the National Arogya Fair 2026 is being organized in Shegaon from February 25–28. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Ayush and highlights major traditional systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy at a single venue. It also features free health check-ups, medical consultations, live demonstrations, exhibitions, and special sessions for farmers focusing on agroforestry and the cultivation of medicinal plants, making it a significant public health and awareness initiative.

Pokhran was the location where the Indian Army’s Konark Corps carried out the successful test firing of the Strela-10 Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS). The exercise took place at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan’s desert sector. The missile system, launched from a BMP-based mobile platform, achieved direct hits on simulated low-altitude aerial targets such as aircraft, helicopters, and drones. The drill demonstrated operational readiness, effective surveillance integration, strong crew coordination, and accurate engagement under challenging desert conditions, reinforcing India’s air defence preparedness in strategically sensitive regions.

Itanagar was the venue for the National SC-ST Hub Mega Awareness Programme organised by the Ministry of MSME. The programme aimed to promote entrepreneurship among SC and ST communities and to spread awareness about various central government schemes available for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Entrepreneurs were also provided the opportunity to obtain Udyam Registration during the event. Additionally, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at Jote, constructed with assistance from the Ministry of MSME, was inaugurated, further strengthening support infrastructure for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs in the region.
