Gujarat signed a Letter of Intent with Starlink to deploy satellite-based broadband connectivity in remote, tribal, and underserved regions. The agreement, signed in Gandhinagar, aims to bridge the digital divide by strengthening e-governance, healthcare, education, disaster management, and industrial connectivity. Pilot projects will cover tribal and Aspirational Districts such as Narmada and Dahod. The initiative aligns with the Digital India vision and seeks to ensure last-mile digital access, enabling efficient public service delivery, telemedicine, smart classrooms, and improved emergency response systems across the state.

R Vijay Anandh has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India as the new Managing Director and CEO of City Union Bank for a three-year term beginning May 1, 2026. His appointment is subject to shareholder approval and comes with a fixed annual remuneration of ₹2.50 crore. With over 28 years of experience in banking, including roles in risk management, credit appraisal, and retail assets, he brings extensive expertise to the position. Seychelles partnered with India to unveil the SESEL Joint Vision aimed at strengthening sustainability, economic growth, and security cooperation.
