China’s CR450 high-speed train reached a record-breaking speed of 453 km/h during testing, showcasing the country’s technological advancement in rail transport. Designed for the Shanghai–Chengdu corridor, the CR450 is expected to enter commercial service in 2026 with a regular operating speed of 400 km/h, making it the fastest passenger train in the world. South Korea has introduced its most powerful ballistic missile, the Hyunmoo-5, nicknamed the “Monster Missile.” This 36-tonne, 16-meter-long road-mobile missile is designed for deep-penetration and bunker-busting missions. Justice Surya Kant has been recommended to take over as the 53rd Chief Justice of India after the retirement of Chief Justice Bhushan R Gavai. He was elevated to the Supreme Court on May 24, 2019, and will serve as CJI for about 14 months, until February 9, 2027. The Election Commission of India has announced that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will be carried out in 12 states and union territories as part of the second phase of the revision process. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 'Deep Sea Fishing Vessels' at Mazgaon Dock in Mumbai under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
