ndia and Finland joined hands to boost mutual ties in the areas of trade and investment, renewable energy and science and technology. Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Finnish counterpart held talks in New Delhi to discuss upon strengthening mutual relations. The two ministers reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and agreed to ramp up cooperation in trade. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Swaraj and Soini agreed to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, IT, new and renewable energy, science and technology, culture and people-to-people contact.

Scientists of New Zealand have developed the world's first artificial intelligence politician. This virtual politician was named as SAM. It was created by Nick Gerritsen, a 49-year-old entrepreneur in New Zealand. This politician can answer a person's queries regarding local issues such as policies around housing, education and immigration.

The 15th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for Documentary, Short and Animation Film will be organised from January 28 to February 3, 2018 at the Films Division premises in Mumbai. The biennial event is the oldest and largest film festival for non-feature films in South Asia. It will be organized by the Films Division, Information and Broadcasting ministry. MIFF 2018 will screen films from Jammu and Kashmir and the North East under special packages. Apart from films in various competition categories, best documentary, short and animation films produced in India and abroad will be also screened under special packages, including Jury retrospectives and best of festivals.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (IDEVAW) is observed every year on November 25 is to raise public awareness on issues of violence against women and girls, including how men and boys can play a more active role in eliminating this violence. The theme of the campaign for 2017 is "Leave no one behind: end violence against women and girls". This theme reinforces the UNiTE Campaign's commitment to a world free from violence for all women and girls around the world, while reaching the most underserved and marginalized, including refugees, migrants, minorities, indigenous peoples, and populations affected by conflict and natural disasters, amongst others, first.

The 2017 International Multilateral Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (IMMSAREX) has started in Bangladesh from November 26 to 28, 2017. The exercise will be inaugurated by Prime Minister of Bangladesh on November 27, 2017 in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh. From India, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba will participate in the exercise to consolidate the bilateral naval relations between India and Bangladesh and to explore new avenues for naval cooperation. The exercise is taking place under the aegis of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) - an initiative of the Indian Navy that was launched in 2008 to bring together littoral states in the region.

The World's first Sanskrit 3D film'Anurakthi' is among the main attraction in 3D category at the ongoing International Film Festival of India in Panaji in Goa. A team of 10 Sanskrit scholars worked with the filmmaker to help deliver the correct dialogues. The motto of making the film is to make the Sanskrit language relevant even for today. The main challenge for the artists in the movie was to present it in a contemporary setting and ensure the language can be followed by the viewers.

The Golden Temple has been awarded the 'most visited place of the world' by 'World Book of Records' (WBR), a London-based organisation that catalogues and verifies world records. General secretary of WBR India chapter, Surbhi Kaul, and president of WBR Punjab chapter, Randeep Singh Kohli, gave this award to Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief secretary Roop Singh and other senior officials at Teja Singh Samundari Hall, Amritsar.

The 36th edition of International Geological Congress (IGC - 2020) will be held in New Delhi, India in the year 2020. The event is being jointly funded by the Ministry of Mines (MoM) and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) with the active support of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and the Science Academies of the other neighbouring co-host countries - Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It is expected to attract 7000+ geoscientists from all over the world. The event is to be organized under the aegis of International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and as per the statutes of IUGS-IGC Council.

The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of Inter-State Council (ISC), in Delhi. Volumes-I & II were discussed during the eleventh meeting of the Standing Committee in April 2017 and Volumes-VI and VII will be discussed during the next meeting of the Standing Committee.

The President of the Iran Weightlifting Federation allows women weightlifters to compete internationally, after establishing the Iran Weightlifting Federation Women's Committee. The federation's chief also said that the women weightlifters can compete wearing special clothes for Muslim athletes.

Indian female wrestler Ritu Phogat (48kg) bagged the silver medal in U-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship being held at Poland. Phogat defeated Bulgarian Wrestler Selishka by 4-2 points in the quarterfinal and defeated Chinese Wrestler Jiang Zhu by 4-3 points in the semifinal. Ritu had won the National championship in Indore this month. She also won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in May this year.

The 2017 Constitution Day (or Samvidhan Divas) is celebrated every year in India on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. From 2015, the Government of India (GoI) is observing 26th November as Constitution Day. On the occasion of Constitution Day, in 2017, the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) has launched a Digital Signature campaign to generate awareness on fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution.
