World Day For Animals In Laboratories(World Lab Animal Day) is observed every year on 24 April. It was established in 1979 by the British National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS). The date 24 April was chosen as it marked the birthday of former NAVS president Hugh Dowding.

Tamil Nadu government signs an agreement with Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) for implementing Centres rural internet connectivity programme, BharatNet. Hyundai subsidiary Kia Motors has signed an MoU with Andhra Pradesh govt to set up its first car manufacturing plant in Anantanagar. It is lining up around $1.1 billion.
