M+r-2j.

Member=m=9,
Joint=j=5,
Reaction=r=3,
=9+3-2(5)=12-10=2.

Dse = m-2 * (j-4)+3,m = 2.

m - no. Of members require to form an extra joint, (j-4) joints to form an extra joint j=5 substitute in above eqn we get dse = 3.
Dsi = r-3 = 3-3=0,
Ds = dse+dsi = 0+3 = 3.

For pin-jointed frame Degree of indeterminacy = m+r-2j here m= 12 are =3 & j = 6 so the answer will be 3 do not confuse for joint as seven by counting diagonal cross joint others are well clear there is a roller and hinge support so the reaction is 3.

Answer should be 2.

m= 12, j=5, r=3.

@Bikash Bhattrai.

By your logic, m=10, so the answer is 1.

Point C is also considered hinged so the total of reactions is 5.
R is 5,
M is 12,
J is 7.
And DETERminacy is 12+5-(14)=3.

If you consider the joint then you have to consider the members related to that joint.

If we consider the member as 12 then we have to consider the diagonal cross joint too.

From that concept. Indeterminacy= 12+3-2x7= 1.

If we consider the m as 10, then J=6, so indeterminacy=10+3-2x6=1, so the correct answer will be 1.
