In chain survey, only chain and tape are used for surveying.

Hence, the only perpendicular line can be drawn with the help of chain or tape only.

First making offset and then solving triangle does not require any angular instrument hence D may be the answer.

The chain never measured in angular measurement. So D is incorrect.

Chain can be used for 45 degree and 90 degree.

Chain measures angles otherwise solutions for triangle can't be made.
