Correction due to sag (same in levels).
C = w^2 * l/24 * n^2 * p^2.
Where,
W- Total weight of the chain,
n- Number of supports.
If 1 support n=2.
If 2 support n=3.
Correction due to sag (Different levels).
C = Csag*cos^2 &teeta;

@All.
The Formula for correction for sag is= (w^2L^3)/24P^2.
Where w= weight of the tape in N/m.
And
w=W/L.
where W= weight of the tape in N.
Therefore above formula can also be written as;
Correction= (W^L)/24P^2.

From know source formula of sag correction is = lw^2/24p^2.
The weight here is w/m while in formula its w only thus;
SAG correction = l(w*l)^2/24p^2 ( To cancel meters of weight).
Thus option A is right.

Option A is the right answer.
As w is given in kg / m then the above formula is correct.
But the formula will change whenever W becomes TOTAL WEIGHT. Then the formula.
= (W^2*L) ÷ 24p^2.

Ans must be, Cs= - (w^2)*(L^3)/24(P^2) for sag correction. If the tape is standarized in catenary, But it used flat in the field the sag correction is +'ve.

I think the option D is the correct answer.

L x (mg x l ) *2/ 24p*2 is original formula.
Reference book TP Kanetkar page 13.
Mg is equal to W so L*3 W*2/ 24P*2 is the answer.

Answer A is correct because weight is taken as w kg/m length of tape.
So W=wl.
Correction for sag is l/24*(W/P)^2.
l/24*(wl/P)^2.
So W=wl.
Correction for sag is l/24*(W/P)^2.
l/24*(wl/P)^2.

All the options given here are incorrect.
The formula for sag correction is,
(L/24) * (W/P)^2.
The formula for sag correction is,
(L/24) * (W/P)^2.

@Kaweri and @Vishal.
You both are correct. The correct answer is w^2L^2/24P^2.
