Surface dressing is by default measured in m2.
For excavation of width>1.5m and depth<30cm measured in m2.
For excavation of width>1.5m and depth<30cm measured in m2.

Excavation up to 30 cm and less than 30 cm in depth is also known as surface excavation. Its units are measured in square meters.
