Total float means the time that can be a delay which doesn't affect the estimated completion duration.

Total float is the amount of time of an activity which doesn't affect the estimated completion of the period of activity.
Here 10 days are available for completion of an activity.
The total float is 5 days. Means in 10 days 5 days can be a delay which doesn't affect the completion time of activity.
Here answer will be started 5 days later.

Let's say that we have two activities A, and B.
However, activity A has 10 days duration that means " without considering the float "activity A has 10 days to complete and must start on time to finish within its duration 10 days.
Now, with Total float, activity A has 5 days before starting this means "activity A still has extra time to start late. Because this will not affect the completion date since we talk about " Total float " Not Free Float " so option A is correct. Accordingly, starting 5 days late this will result in complete after 15 days " 10+5 days" this will lead to option C which is correct as well. Finally, activity A has 10 days +5 days this means, in case A started after 10 days. You still have 5 days to complete on time. Which lead to Option B.
