Weight of water = 1500g.
Weight of cement paste = 1875g.
Weight of cement = 1875-1500.
= 375g.
% of water = wt.of cement/wt.of water.
= (375/1500)*100.
= 25%.

@All.

Here is my explanation.

The Weight of cement = 1500g.
The Weight of cement paste = 1875g.
The Weight of water = 1875-1500.
= 375g.

% of water = wt of water/wt.of cement.
= (375/1500) * 100.
= 25%.

@All.

Here is the solution.

Formula %w= wt of water/wt of cement.

In the question, the data is incorrect, 1500 gm is the wt of cement.

So,

Wt of water= 1875-1500= 375gm.
Wt of cement = 1500gm.
%w. C= (375÷1500) *100 = 25%.

Question should be like this if 1500 g of cement is required to have a cement paste 1875 g of normal consistency, the percentage of water is,

Then,
Weight of cement = 1500g.
Weight of cement paste = 1875g.
Weight of water = 1875-1500.
= 375g.
% of water = wt.of water/wt.of cement.
= (375/1500)*100.
= 25%.
I think this is understandable.

I think.

The water-cement ratio is the ratio of The volume of water and the volume of cement.

So the volume of 1500 grams of water is 1500 cubic centimetres, the volume of 1875Gram of cement, where the density of cement is 3. 2 grams per cm3, the volume of cement=3. 2*1875=6000Cubic centimeters, so the water-cement ratio = volume of water/volume of cement = 1500/6000 * 100 = 25%.

Weight of water = 1875 - 1500 = 375g.
Water content = 375/1500 × 100 = 25%.

I think "Percentage water" and "water content" are two different terms.

W.C = Weight of water/Weight of solids(or weight in dry state) &
% W.C = Weight of water/Total weight of sample.

What most of us are calculating is "water content" but the question is about % water content. Please mind it.

How the % of water = wt of cement/wt of water, is this formula is right? Anyone explain me, please.
