6.
If 6 men and 8 boys can do a piece of work in 10 days while 26 men and 48 boys can do the same in 2 days, the time taken by 15 men and 20 boys in doing the same type of work will be:
4 days
5 days
6 days
7 days
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let 1 man's 1 day's work = x and 1 boy's 1 day's work = y.

Then, 6x + 8y = 1 and 26x + 48y = 1 .
10 2

Solving these two equations, we get : x = 1 and y = 1 .
100 200

(15 men + 20 boy)'s 1 day's work = 15 + 20 = 1 .
100 200 4

15 men and 20 boys can do the work in 4 days.

If we will compare between (6M+8B) & (15M+20B)

Then it can be seen that in 2nd equation M and B is exactly 2.5 times more than a 1st equation,

So, working time also will be 2.5 times less.

So, the answer is, 10/2.5= 4 days.

3 men and 2 boys can complete a work in 16 days, while 2 men and 3 boys complete same work in 20 days. Then how much days will it takes to complete the same work with 2 men and 1 boy (work and time question from arihant book).

This can be solved with one equation
6 men & 8 boys can do the work in 10 days
Multiply this with 2.5 gives 15 men & 20 boys
Divide the number of days by same factor 2.5 = 10 days / 2.5
i.e. 4 days :)

@Sidhu

We want to find: 15x+20y=?----(3)
now taking 2 common form equ(1),

We get: 2(3x+4y)=1/10

So we have, 3x+4y=1/20...ok...///// if we take 2 common ok

2(3x+4y)ok but how u get = 1/20 hmmmmmm

I have More smarter way to solve this.

6 Man and 8 Boys takes 10 days.

15 Man And 20 boys are 2.5 time more than 6 man and 8 boys so, this man and boys group takes 2.5 times less TIME 10/2.5 = 4.

(6m+8b)*10 = (26m + 48b) * 2.
(6m+8b)*5= (26m + 48b),
20m+40b =26m + 48b.
4m. = 8b,
M/b = 2/1.

Now;
(6*2+8*1) * 10 = (15 * 2 + 20 * 1) * X.
12+8 ) * 10 = (30+20) * X,
200. = 50 * X.
X = 4.

Given that.

6M+8B = 1/10 (1'd work). ----------------[1].

26M+49B = 1/2 (1'd work). ----------------[2].

Sub eq (2) - eq (1).

20M+40B = 1/2-1/10=4/10.

2M+4B = 4/100 = 1/25.

Total time 25.

Very Easy to Understand.

6m + 8b = 1/10,
2(3m + 4b) = 1/10,
3m + 4b = 1/20,
5(3m + 4b) = 5(1/20),
15m + 20b = 1/4.

We are getting the solution without the involvement of 26 men and 48 boys.

A and B can do a work in 12 and B and C in 16 days.

If A does work for 5 days and B for 7 days and then remaining work is completed by C in 13 days then C can Do this work in how many days?

Small Logic, let's assume:

26+48 =74 peoples has done their work in 2 days.
74/2 = 37;

So 37 peoples can do the work in 4 days.
20+15 = 35;

Approximately 35 peoples also can do in 4 days.
