Discussion Forum : Time and Distance - General Questions (Q.No. 1)

1.

A person crosses a 600 m long street in 5 minutes. What is his speed in km per hour?

Answer: Option

Explanation:

Speed = | 600 | m/sec. | |

5 x 60 |

= 2 m/sec.

Converting m/sec to km/hr (see important formulas section)

= | 2 x | 18 | km/hr | ||

5 |

= 7.2 km/hr.

600 meters in 5 minutes.

To find 1 min distance;

= 600/5

= 120 meters in 1 min

60 min in 1 hour.

Multiply by 60 min to find the total distance in meters in 1 hour.

= 120 * 60.

= 7200 meter.

Convert into kilometre multiplied by 1000;

7200/1000.

7.2 kilometers in 1 hour.

To find 1 min distance;

= 600/5

= 120 meters in 1 min

60 min in 1 hour.

Multiply by 60 min to find the total distance in meters in 1 hour.

= 120 * 60.

= 7200 meter.

Convert into kilometre multiplied by 1000;

7200/1000.

7.2 kilometers in 1 hour.

It was a format when converted to m/s to km /hr use 18/5 and Km/hr to m/s use 5/18.

Speed = Distance/Time.

600m Distance.

Time 5 Minute = 300 Seconds.

We need speed km/hr, it means 18/5.

600/300 * 18/5 = 36/5.

Ans = 7.2.

600m Distance.

Time 5 Minute = 300 Seconds.

We need speed km/hr, it means 18/5.

600/300 * 18/5 = 36/5.

Ans = 7.2.

Speed = 600 m/sec.

=> 600/ 5 x 60,

= 2 m/sec.

Converting m/sec to km/hr (see important formulas section)

2 multiply 3600/1000,

= 18 km/hr.

Then

= 2 x18/5 km/hr

= 7.2 km/hr.

=> 600/ 5 x 60,

= 2 m/sec.

Converting m/sec to km/hr (see important formulas section)

2 multiply 3600/1000,

= 18 km/hr.

Then

= 2 x18/5 km/hr

= 7.2 km/hr.

600/5 = 120.

120m per minute.

120 * 60min = 7200m.

1000m = 1 km.

7200/1000 = 7.2km per hour.

120m per minute.

120 * 60min = 7200m.

1000m = 1 km.

7200/1000 = 7.2km per hour.

Distance = 600m = 600/1000 km

= 0.6 km.

Time = 5mint = 5/60 hr = 1/12 hr.

Speed = Distance/time.

= (0.6)/1/12.

= 0.6×12.

=7.2

= 0.6 km.

Time = 5mint = 5/60 hr = 1/12 hr.

Speed = Distance/time.

= (0.6)/1/12.

= 0.6×12.

=7.2

Time = 5 min.

Distance = 600 meter.

Distance = 600/5 = 120m in one minute.

In hour = 120x60 = 7200m in one hour.

1km = 1000m.

7200m = 7.2m=>answer.
