In a mixture 60 litres, the ratio of milk and water 2 : 1. If this ratio is to be 1 : 2, then the quantity of water to be further added is:
20 litres
30 litres
40 litres
60 litres
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Quantity of milk = 60 x 2 litres = 40 litres.
3

Quantity of water in it = (60- 40) litres = 20 litres.

New ratio = 1 : 2

Let quantity of water to be added further be x litres.

Then, milk : water = 40 .
20 + x

Now, 40 = 1
20 + x 2

20 + x = 80

x = 60.

Quantity of water to be added = 60 litres.

Quantity of mixture is 60 liters.

Ratio = 2:1 so, 40 milk : 20 water.

Take the same quantity of mixture 60 liters. Ratio = 1:2.

So, 20 milk : 40 water. Therefore the total quantity of water = 40+20 = 60.

Am saying just simple formula for this.

If an x liters mixture of milk & water the ratio of milk of water is a:b.

The quantity of water to be added in order to make this ratio c:d is x(ad-bc)/c(a+b).

Just make it simple.

If the quantity of milk remains same 40.
And the new ratio is 1:2.
It means water is double then milk according to ratio then we have 40:80. And, minus the old water means 80-20 = 60.

Mixture of milk and water is = 60 liters that is milk:water.

As per given ratio is = 1:2 that is 40:20.

As per asking ratio is = 2:1 that is 20:40.

Further added milk & water = 3:3 that is 60:60.

25 chairs cost as much as 42stools 35 costs as much as 18 tables 10 tables costs as much as 12 benches and a pair of benches costs 625 find the cost of 1 chair.

Can anyone answer for this question?

Total Mixture 60 liter and ration of the milk and water is 2:1.
Then milk is 40 lit and water is 20 lit.

If you go options 40 has to be correct ?
40 : 20 => 40: 20+60 => 40: 80 => 1:2.

Actually, I think we don't need to find the solution for this question so hard.

It says 2:1=60.
So, if its interchange to 1:2 answer is also 60 ltr since the two products do not change changed.

Ratio= 2+1=3.
Mix= 60litr,
60/3=20,
Ratio= 2:1 then multiply by 20,
2*20=40 and 1*20=20,
Next ratio 1:2.

1 2
40 20 Cross multipy then the value is 80and 20.
80-20 = 60 is the answer.

In first condition milk+water=40+20.

Now new ratio is 1:2 means value of water is double from milk now milk is already 40 so the value of water is 80. This means we have to add 60 liters water.

Milk 2x:1x water.

Previously 2x+1x=60 litres.
3x=60L.
x=60/3=20litrs.

Previously values = milk - > 2*x=40L.
Water->1*x=20L.

Quantity to be further added in water=x.
40/20+x=1/2.
X=60 L.
