The salaries A, B, C are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5. If the increments of 15%, 10% and 20% are allowed respectively in their salaries, then what will be new ratio of their salaries?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let A = 2k, B = 3k and C = 5k.
A's new salary = | 115 | of 2k = | ![]() |
115 | x 2k | ![]() |
= | 23k |
100 | 100 | 10 |
B's new salary = | 110 | of 3k = | ![]() |
110 | x 3k | ![]() |
= | 33k |
100 | 100 | 10 |
C's new salary = | 120 | of 5k = | ![]() |
120 | x 5k | ![]() |
= 6k |
100 | 100 |
![]() |
![]() |
23k | : | 33k | : 6k | ![]() |
= 23 : 33 : 60 |
10 | 10 |

New ratio of their salaries,
115*2=230.
110*3=330.
120*5=600.
i.e 230:330:600.
i.e 23:33:60.
115*2=230.
110*3=330.
120*5=600.
i.e 230:330:600.
i.e 23:33:60.

Simplest way to understand.
15% increment in A Salary, So,
2*15% = 0.3.
Total Salary of A after increment = 2+0.3 = 2.3.
10% increment in B Salary, So,
3*10% = 0.3.
Total Salary of B after increment = 3+0.3 = 3.3.
20% Increment in C Salary, So,
5*20% = 1.
Total Salary of C after increment = 5+1 = 6.
Ratio of salary of A, B & C after increment.
2.3 : 3.3 : 6.0.
So 23 : 33 : 60 Answer.
15% increment in A Salary, So,
2*15% = 0.3.
Total Salary of A after increment = 2+0.3 = 2.3.
10% increment in B Salary, So,
3*10% = 0.3.

20% Increment in C Salary, So,
5*20% = 1.
Total Salary of C after increment = 5+1 = 6.

2.3 : 3.3 : 6.0.
So 23 : 33 : 60 Answer.

Let's salaries A,B,C are 200:300:500 i.e 2:3:5.
A-increase of 15% is 200+30 = 230.
B-increase of 10% is 300+33 = 330.
C-increase of 20%b is 500+100 = 600.
Ratio of A:B:C is 230: 330: 600.
i.e 23: 33: 60.
A-increase of 15% is 200+30 = 230.
B-increase of 10% is 300+33 = 330.
C-increase of 20%b is 500+100 = 600.
Ratio of A:B:C is 230: 330: 600.
i.e 23: 33: 60.

Hai @Asma, Try below:
Ans, is 10 years.
Say, present age is = X,
After 20 years man age will be 3X = X+20.
i.e, 3X = X+20.
3X-X = 20.
X = 10.
Results, the man present age is 10 years.

In this example mentioned 15% increase. That happened we are writing 115.
In case here mentioned loss/decrease 15% in this case we are write 85.

Let common multiple be x:
A = 15% of 2x+2x.
= 15/100*2x+2x.
= 3/10*x+2x.
= 3x/10+2x = {3x+10(2x)}/10 = 23x/10.
B = 10% of 3x+3x.
= 10/100*3x+3x.
= 3x/10+3x = {3x+10(3x)}/10 = 33x/10.
C = 20% of 5x+5x.
= 20/100*5x+5x.
= 1x/5*5x+5x = 1x+5x = 6x.
A:B:C = 23x/10:33x/10:6x.
= 23x/10:33x/10:6x*10/10 (L.C.M).
= 23x/10:33x/10: 60x/10.
= 23:33:60 (10 and x gets cancelled).
Hope I helped You guys!
