The salaries A, B, C are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5. If the increments of 15%, 10% and 20% are allowed respectively in their salaries, then what will be new ratio of their salaries?

Explanation:

Let A = 2k, B = 3k and C = 5k.

 A's new salary = 115 of 2k = 115 x 2k = 23k 100 100 10

 B's new salary = 110 of 3k = 110 x 3k = 33k 100 100 10

 C's new salary = 120 of 5k = 120 x 5k = 6k 100 100 New ratio 23k : 33k : 6k = 23 : 33 : 60 10 10

Now we can find new salary of A in two ways: 1st way: THEORY:Step 1: Calculating 15% in original salary ( i.e 2k) Step 2: And then adding it to the original value to get increased salary. Calculation:Step 1: (15/100)*2k= 3k/10 Step 2: (3k/10)+2k=23k/10 2nd way: THEORY: If we consider 100% is the original value. 15% is increased therefore 100%+15%=115% 115% of 2k gives 15% increased salary + original salary NOTE:here we need only one step to calculate new salary. CALCULATION: (115/100)*2k=23k/10

B = 10% of 3x+3x. = 10/100*3x+3x. = 3x/10+3x = {3x+10(3x)}/10 = 33x/10. C = 20% of 5x+5x. = 20/100*5x+5x. = 1x/5*5x+5x = 1x+5x = 6x. A:B:C = 23x/10:33x/10:6x. = 23x/10:33x/10:6x*10/10 (L.C.M). = 23x/10:33x/10: 60x/10. = 23:33:60 (10 and x gets cancelled). Hope I helped You guys!

Then 2+0.3=2.3 Similarly B = (3 * 0.1)=0.3, B = 3+0.3=3.3, C =( 5 * 0.2)=1, C = 5+1, So the Ratios are now 2.3 : 3.3 : 6, After multiplying with 100 in each; = 23:33:60.
